Delivery at South Nassau
Delivered at South Nassau 5 years ago with our DS and now will be delivering there with DD. Had a great experience but it's obviously been a while. Anyone deliver there recently? I plan to formula feed. Were they pushy about breastfeeding? What kind of formula do they use? Any other comments? Thanks!

Re: Delivery at South Nassau
my SIL delivered there 3 months ago and had a great experience.
she did not breast feed and they didn't push her, and they even took the baby to the nursery for her when she asked so she could sleep.

Re: Delivery at South Nassau
I delivered there in August 2014.
All the rooms are big and private.
They were not pushy about formula feeding. The l&d nurses asked me in the beginning what I wanted to do and that was it.
They use similac.
The food sucks! Have family or DH bring you in food, if possible.
I loved delivering at this hospital, very quiet. The nurses for L&D and post partum were all great.
You have to pay extra for tv and phone calls (out, not received).

I delivered my DS there in Nov 13' and it was a great experience and plan on delivering my next son due Sept 15 as well. As mentioned all their rooms in the maternity ward are private. I breast and formula feed and didn't think they were pushy. I thought they used Enfamil, but could be wrong or they could have changed. The nurses during delivery and recovery were wonderful! Super nice and helpful. I didn't think the hospital food was too bad, but then again I could have just been starving.
Good luck!

i'll be delivering there next month. I hope they offer Enfamil as well because I would prefer Enfamil. Otherwise I guess I'll have to bring my own in, ugh.

Re: Delivery at South Nassau
I delivered there in January and had a great experience. I loved the private rooms and the huge bathrooms. My dh stayed over all 3 nights I was there. The fold out chair he slept in was not very comfortable for him, but he made do with it.
I breastfed but also supplemented with formula and they gave similac. They were not pushy about anything. I sent the baby to the nursery both nights without a problem. They don't give pacifiers unless your baby is a preemie or needs to be under the lights for jaundice.
The food is horrible. I heard they changed their food service provider in the past year so if you delivered there more than a year ago, the food was decent at that point. One night my meal was a large salad with another small salad as the side dish. It was ridiculous and I was starving.
