How many cups of coffee do you have a day?

I normally have one in the morning, and one with an espresso shot at 2/3pm to get me through the rest of the day.

I will be getting rid of that espresso shot, but yesterday I didn't have the afternoon one, and I was definitely dragging.

I am not one to follow the "rules" to a T, but since I have had some losses, I want to be very strict with myself until my 2nd trimester.....

Re: Coffee

My doctor told me to have one cup of coffee a day. I have kidney stones and he wanted to keep me peeing and caffeine is a diuretic.

I figure if my doctor was TELLING me to drink a cup of coffee a day, how bad can it really be.

I followed his orders

Coffee

I only had 1 a day before I got pregnant. So that's all I have now.

I hardly ever finish a cup anyway.

Coffee

I went decaf right before getting my bfp, I had early losses and there is evidence that caffeine can increase your risk. I know 1 cup is OK, but I didn't want to risk it.

Coffee

I rarely had it with #1. I drink it often with #2 since I had a 9m old when I got pregnant lol. I don't drink it every day but when I do, I usually get an iced coffee or espresso drink but make sure that I don't exceed the 200mg/day.

I have one every morning. I'm not sleeping well so I need it to get going. I usually get a grande iced coffee at Starbucks and do half decaf half regular.

Re: Coffee

My first pregnancy I didn't have any coffee the entire pregnancy - not a single sip.

With my second pregnancy I was way more lenient, and I was getting headaches, so I had no more than 1 cup of coffee per day. Probably about 4-5 cups per week.

Re: Coffee

I have a cup a day in the morning. On occasion, I will have either a second cup (ie if we are at a get-together with dessert and coffee) or a cup of coke. For some reason, I can only drink coke with certain meals like tacos and Chinese food, even though I'm generally not a cola drinker!

Coffee

I had 1-2 cups a day of regular through both pregnancies. My doc was fine with it. Chemicals are used to decaffeinate coffee so I figured that wasn't any better!

Re: Coffee

I had one cup a day in the morning and if I was really craving something else later I'd have a cup of decaf in the afternoon.

My dr's recommendation was that one cup of caffeine was fine.

Re: Coffee

With DS i had a medium coffee from Dunkin Donuts every day. That was all the caffeine I would allow myself daily.. and it falls under the recommendation 200mg or less for pregnancy.
This pregnancy the taste and smell made me want to throw up until about 26 weeks. I'm having one small coffee a day and allow myself a soda or something later in the day.
