Did anyone use HGH during ivf cycle?? Read article about it helping women like me with DOr
Spoke to dr t, he says he uses it here and there- cost OOP 500 per cycle. Money not factor if there's a slight chance it could help. Any thoughts? Experience? When did you start it? Before cycle or during?

I have this in my notes to ask my Dr next time. The reason being is I have read in the past how much it helps; Im just curious how its administered?
Is it a one time shot like Ovidrel? Or is it a daily shot while stimming? Did Dr. T explain that at all?

It's a daily shot in stomach and it starts during Stims. It's about 600 bucks per cycle OOP. I'm going to try it next cycle.

I can answer this. I just cycled with Dr. T after having a huge failure with IVF back in September with LI IVF. Back then, I only had 8 eggs retrieved and 1 fertilized. Not pregnant. They blamed egg quality. Using the HGH, my cycle this time led them to retrieve 16 eggs and 11 fertilized. Just got a 209 beta this morning. Its def. worth the money.

I also used with success . First ivf did not end well at LIVF. After I moved to Gold Coast , did the supplements the dr suggested along with an increase in dosage and change of my meds and an addition of the HGH it worked . I had 3 eggs at LIVF only two fertilized and ended in chemical. At Gold Coast I had 6 and only one was good and now I'm almost 8 mos. it is supposed to help quality I believe not so much quantity. I took mine during my stomach phase . I got lucky my insurance covered it although u think by accident . It's worth a shot . Sometimes the slightest tweak in a protocol can make a huge difference . Very few re use it because it is not fda approved for the use of ivf but t seems as as if the out of the box ones do.

My IVF cycle at LIIVF was also a bust ( no blasts). All garbage. Switched to SIRM (Dr. Wang) and used HGH as well as other meds to address immune issues.13 retrieved, 12 mature, 12 fertilized (5 made it to blast). 1 baby due in October. HGH is supposed to help quality not quantity. I was only on it for about 5 days at the end of stimming. I don't know if it was the HGH, immune protocol, etc. but definitely believe you should give these last few cycles your all. Good luck!

Dr. T recommended this for me when I try again (if that's even possible). It won't help with my endo damage but many studies support its use with DOR.

Thanks ladies for all of your responses. Giving it my all next cycle so I was curious of any success stories. Can't hurt right? I had 5 eggs last to e which is a lot for me but none made past day 3. If I can get even one to make it- it's better chance than none.

I have Blue Cross Blue Shields of Ilinois . Luckily my insurance is out of Illinois because they have an infertility mandate where meds must be covered as well as u limited Iuis and up to 4 ivfs, two after your first live birth.
I have a 2500 deductible and after is met I'm covered at 100%. But I learned the hard way . Went on my husband's which is great for everything but no fertility coverage at all . So all my Iuis I paid out of pocket until I found out what my company ins was all about and had to wait for the new year to switch. It sucks this is a disease and people look at it like a luxury . Not fair .

Yup I used it with my successful cycle with Dr. T. I figured at this point why not. He said I didn't have to use it but if I wanted to give it a try then we could. I attribute that in addition to immune meds to my success. I called around for pricing for HGH. Wallgreens specialty pharmacy had the best price. I think I used it during the cycle while I was stimming.

I think it was even before retrieval. Then another one after my positive beta and so on. I think it was until 16 weeks preg. I also started Prednisone before hand as well. The HGH didn't have any noticeable effects on me. The Prednisone gave me an issue but its because I was on it for so long but nothing major. If Millers is a decent price then just go with them. When I was doing it Wallgreens was cheaper so I went with them. I think like $200 cheaper. I just told my nurse that I found it cheaper somewhere else and asked her to call it in. Fingers crossed for you!

Thats a good price. When I was doing it they were charging like $700 I think and Wallgreens Specialty like $400-500 so I guess the prices have lowered this year. $317 is lower than I paid.

Oh that's good to know. Dr had said he thought it was going to be about $500 out of pocket so this is a nice surprise.
