cerclage vs no cerclage…thoughts?
This is my third pregnancy and I'm 20 weeks with a cervix measuring 1.6-1.9. In the past I've been 2.5 and just put on moderate bed rest. Now, my high risk doctor wants to put a cerclage in and I'm a wreck! Thoughts? Experiences?

Re: cerclage vs no cerclage…thoughts?
I would absolutely have one placed.
In 2013, I lost my twins to an incompetent cervix. I was measuring 1.5 at 19 weeks. I was placed on strict bed rest and progesterone suppositories and still went into labor 2 weeks later.
This time around I had a cerclage placed at 16 weeks, I'm now 30 weeks and it's been holding strong.
Feel free to FM me if you have any questions.

I would get it. Why risk it. My cousin just had it done on Friday at 22 weeks, later than normal, but she was at a 0!

If my dr recommended it, I would ask to schedule it as soon as possible.

That seems really short, at 20 weeks, I'd do it.

YES! Do it while you can (before 26 w) bc you will end up on bedrest without it. NOT fun!

No reason not to do it. It's a low risk procedure. I had one. Nbd and the piece of mind was priceless!

I would do it. I was monitored closely during my pregnancy and was prepared to have one placed if necessary.

Re: cerclage vs no cerclage…thoughts?
THANK YOU SO MUCH GIRLS! Looks like I'm going in tomorrow at 1 for another ultrasound check and then in for the procedure. Were you girls put on bed rest or a "Modified bed rest" after it? How about going back to work? Thank you again. I feel better about getting it done now.

I was on bed rest for 10 days, I've been back to work ever since then with no issues.
Good luck! Everything will be fine.

I would absolutely do whatever it took to keep my baby safe inside for as long as possible. I'm glad you're getting it done. Good luck!
