i'm back (finally!)
After about 8-10 weeks of beta hell/finding out I had an ectopic, I just found out that my levels are FINALLY almost back at 0!!!!
My doctor said to wait until AF comes, then on day 8 of that cycle I will go in for an HSG test, which is heard is very painful (anyone experience this?)
After the HSG is done, he said I can try in that cycle when I ovulate, around day 14. He is going to give me progesterone cream this time too, so maybe that will help me out a bit this time, since this is now my 2nd loss
I will definitely be on the Sept board :)

Welcome back and good luck!!! I had an HSG this cycle, I found it very painful, and I took 800mg of Advil before going in. Other women that have had it have felt a mild cramping. The doctor even said I seemed to experience a lot more pain and discomfort than most people do. It's different for everyone. The upside is that it did not take that long and once it was over, I felt fine. No cramping or pain the rest of the day.

did you have any blockages? I heard that could be why it is more painful... I'm so nervous to get it, but I'm also very excited at the same time. I heard that alot of people conceive soon after it is done. Although, conceiving isn't the hard part for me. It's keeping the pregnancy that is my issue. That is why my dr. wants to get me on progesterone.
I hope this all works out ASAP because this is excellent timing for teachers!! lol

I had an HSG done when ttc my first. We conceived him three days after! plus the procedure did not hurt me at all. I had no blockages though, which could be why. Wishing you a similar experience!

Good luck! I'm going for an hsg on Tuesday. I was told to take Aleve 1 hour before the procedure and make sure I bring a pad with me because I might have discharge afterwards.

Re: i'm back (finally!)
Im having an HSG tomorrow. I've heard mixed things. some say its a piece of cake, others had worse experiences.
the last iUI i did in may seminal fluid got into my uterus and it was a pain worse than the 14 hrs I was in labor with my son. So I dont think the HSG can be any worse..lol.
My dr. told me not to worry and that he does like 7 in an hr, takes him less than 10 min.

No blockages, all was normal thankfully. I think I am just particularly sensitive, getting a Pap borders on torture for me. Good luck!

Re: i'm back (finally!)
I had a HSG done in June. Not bad at all.
Actually, come to think of it, I got pregnant with my 2nd via IUI the same month
Good luck!

Re: i'm back (finally!)
I'm so sorry to hear that it ended up being an ectopic. What an ordeal to have to go through. I know many girls have experience with this, so if you need to - definitely reach out on the TTC/Pregnancy after Miscarriage board.
As for everything else, I'm so glad that you're back to 0. That truly is a good feeling after going through a loss. I had another version of the HSG test done - using water rather than the solution. I forget the name of that one, but it also checks for blockages, etc. I found it invasive (meaning just awkward and uncomfortable) but not painful at all. Minor, minor cramping. But I think the solution one might be more painful than the water. I'm glad you'll be getting on progesterone too. After my 3 losses trying for #2, I had this test done and got on some progesterone and Folgard and ended up pregnant with my keeper on the next cycle. So I'm definitely keeping my fingers crossed for you!!

My OB says he does it, but he has no equip in his office. In any event Im under the care of an RE. My RE did it @ the hospital he's affiliated with.( in the radiology dept actually)

i'm back (finally!)
got levels back today and they were 3. apparently that's not considered 0 yet, so i need to do more bloodwork next tues ugh
i was told to expect my period to arrive around 28 days from now, but it could really arrive at any time because everyone is different. If anyone has gone through a mc and remembers how long it took for af to come after levels were at 0, please let me know! I'm also going to ask on the ttc after mc board
