So looks like I'm starting this feritility treatment journey—but I'm finding it hard to be optimistic

We have one daughter that took us 18 months to conceive and after trying for a second for 14 months, we conceived again, but it ended in a miscarriage.

Well, we've finally sought the help of an RE and our initial testing reveals... absolutely nothing. DH's sperm is great, my HSG looked great, my FSH and AMH are great etc.

If I was younger, I'd like to just keep trying naturally as I know we can conceive, it just takes us a long time. But I'm turning 40 at the end of this year...

So next month we will start with a medicated IUI and do a total of three before considering IVF.

Sigh.

I feel good that we're finally getting help, but sad that we have no explanation.

Not sure what I'm looking for here, but thanks for reading. If anyone has any advice or comments, I'd love to hear it.

Unidentified sux, I feel like its almost easier knowing what your are fighting then having no reason. You may get pregnant with IUI's since you have been pregnant before. Good luck.

I just started down the road. Im 36. Its overwhelming. I was always on the fence about doing IVF b/c of the drugs, but I have to know that i did everything I could to try for # 2. the not knowing would be worse for me.

I'm struggling too. My SIL got her BFP after 3 IUI's. I went to the Dr. on 7/30 to get the ball rolling for me and find out why I'm not PG after almost a year of TTC. Do you know that she has not even asked how things went at the Dr.? So far, all my blood work was fine except for my insulin. I'm at 27.2 and normal is 27 so I'm on 1000mg of Metformin. My HSG is on Tuesday and my ultrasound is on Wednesday.
