Greenport
We are heading out there for a day trip. We will have our two year old with us who loves animals and sand. Any recommendations on where to stop? Where to eat? Any farm stands you suggest?

I believe Martha clara vineyards has animals. that would be on your way out to greenport.
for a sandy beach I LOVE sunset beach on shelter island. you can take a short ferry ride over from greenport. I recommend getting there early so you can get one of the public parking spots. it's a great beach if you have a little one. my 2 year old loves it!

Def. go on the carousel in greenport! i loved it.
you could stop in manorville on the way and do either the petting zoo or the li game farm.

Goodale Farms on Main Road in Riverhead. They have goats, cows, chickens and pigs. You can buy milk bottles to feed the goats. They sell cheese and other things.
Harbes in Mattitick on Sound Avenue. It's a large farm stand with a play area and animals for kids for a fee.
