Progesterone
Hello,
My doctor put me on Progesterone because it went down to 15.4 and I was spotting. I will be 7 weeks Wed. Since starting it, Friday night, my spotting has stopped. It actually stopped the very next day. My doctor always said anything over 10 is fine in a natural pregnancy, but for some reason I was spotting with my Progesterone at 15 and now since taking the supplements, the spotting stopped.
Anyone know why it is stopping my spotting, or anyone have this happen to them? Obviously I am happy about it, but didn't expect it. We saw the heartbeat on Thursday, and the doctor couldn't explain the spotting, but said if my Progesterone dropped to start with the supplements.
I am going to call my doctor tomorrow, but just wondering in the mean time.
Thank you!

Progesterone
I started spotting when mine was 14.7. Went on crinone and spotting stopped immediately. I think we all just have different progesterone thresholds.

no advice, but I was on progesterone with both my pregnancies and I never spotted before or after taking progesterone.

Progesterone
Four hormones are involved with the menstrual cycle: FSH, LH, estrogen, and progesterone. They all have different functions in terms egg and uterine lining development. Estrogen is responsible for the thickening of the uterine lining. Progesterone allows the uterine lining to remain thick and stops it from being shed from the body so the embryo can implant and develop. It is actually produced by the corpus luteum in the ovary.

Re: Progesterone
I had spotting both pregnancies and never had low progesterone. Sometimes it just happens.

As stated above, it allows the uterine lining to remain thick and stops it from being shed from the body so the embryo can implant and develop. This would then stop any spotting you're having which is a result of the lining shredding.

Thanks ladies! I just find it so odd that my lining would start shedding with Progesterone at 15.4, but I guess like a PP said everyones body is different.
I have been on Progesterone a week tomorrow, and the spotting stopped, but Wed night I had another wake up in the middle of the night to a gush of red blood, then immediately turned to brown spotting, then nothing since.
I find this so strange and stressful on top of it. I actually went right back to sleep this time, unlike last week where it kept me up the whole night. I guess I have come to accept this pregnancy is not going to go as smooth as I would like.
I am wondering if this is happening on the days I over exert myself. Last week when it happened it was the day I was going and going, and this week was the same thing....
I go for another ultrasound tomorrow, and I am hoping they see a SCH or something, so there is a reason for it.
I also wonder if I took progesterone with my Missed MC if it would have prevented the loss. I didn't spot with that pregnancy though, but my levels did get as low as 12, but the doctor said anything over 10 was fine. Can't dwell on the past though right

Re: Progesterone
My progesterone this past pregnancy was never really high. I had spotting at exactly 5 weeks it was bright red and not just a couple of drops. It was from a SCH and would come and go for a few weeks. Not fun but worth it in the end(the stress).
