1 year old cat- hissing
dh and I don't have kids, but whenever my cousin's 8 year old twins and 1 year old come over, my cat hisses at them. They are very good with her and let her sniff them and everything. She is usually good for awhile and then out of nowhere just comes up to them and hisses at them. She tried to swipe the baby at one point, too.
Is this normal? Is there any hope that she will calm down and be good with my future babies?

Has the baby bothered her or pulled her tail? As you know they want to be friendly on their own terms. I'm sure your cat will be fine. Yes, there is hope.
