I am P***** off today . . .

I thought I did really well yesterday. I started the Biggest Loser DVD with the first day of the 6 week program (wow that Low Intensity was not so LOW-lol)

I had a rehearsal dinner last night and I thought I did good. I had 12 points left for the day and no flex points left, so I knew I might have some trouble.

I really watched my portions. I had half a piece of foccacia bread. I had not even half a cup of a chopped salad. It was a family style dinner, so I had a little bit of 3 dishes offered. I had what I figured to be about an ounce of veal parm, an ounce of Chix Marsala and half a cup of Penne alla Vodka that was very light on sauce. When dessert came, I just "tasted" - literally, a bite sized piece of a brownie. All I drank was Seltzer with lime.

I may have gone a bit over my 12 points, but I do not think by much.

So I weigh myself and I am up a pound- and it's only my third week =( I weigh in tomorrow morning, so now I am a little nervous.

My muscles ache like heck today and I am up a pound- sorry to whine but I am p***** off!

I hope this is just water weight from perhaps the sodium in dinner or maybe from starting an exercise routine . . .

honestly, I would not worry at all!! with the meal you had last night (plus all this heat), the scale is going to be higher. drink some extra water today to flush everything out of your system.

I find that after a hefty work out I sometimes go up on the scale. Your muscles might just be heavy from the workout.

Sometimes just knowing you were in control of your eating habits like you were last night is more important than the number on the scale!

Don't sweat the small stuff, these things take time and if you don't see a loss at the scale tommorow, guarenteed if you stick on program you'll see a big loss next week

I know this may sound weird, but I find after I have exercised hard (like playing tennis or something) the next day, either I show a small gain, or show nothing....but it comes off soon. Weird I know, but....

Also remember that if you have been working out and adding muscle you are going to show a gain in weight.

sounds like muscle gain not fat, u did well--dont beat urself up over it...its how u feel and how ur clothes fit that counts not the number on the scale Chat Icon

I'd chalk it up to salty food the night before a WI. Also, this past week was tough, so don't be too hard on yourself.

Thanks so much for your support- I actually ended up with a loss of .8, so it wasn't as bad as I thought- the scale is evil and I have to stay away from it (except for when I weigh in once a week )
