whats involved in a frozen transfer?

Just curious..im going for a fresh IVF cycle, but in the event that it doesnt work and I have embroyos to spare, I would consider doing a frozen transfer.

are the same drugs involved to prep for a frozen transfer? Or is it easier than a fresh cycle where you have to stim and develop multiple eggs.

for frozen you might start estrogen first, about 2 weeks prior then once the transfer happens you start progesterone. I hope I am remembering correctly.

Easier than a fresh cycle as you are not on all the drugs. No stim is needed as you stimmed in order to get those eggs.

Stim for me was very hard, frozen didn't work for me either, nothing made it.

Good luck

I did one frozen transfer. That cycle was way easier than a fresh IVF cycle. GL

Frozen is faster and easier than a fresh cycle. I only took estrogen and progesterone for the frozen. Good luck!

Faster and easier. All that's needed is estrogen to thicken the lining and then progesterone.

FET was easier for me me as well. Day 2 went in for B&S, started taking estrogen for about two or so weeks. Went in three time total for BW. The procedure took about five minutes.

Good luck to you.

Re: whats involved in a frozen transfer?

Frozen cycle is a million times easier then a fresh. For me I never had success on fresh cycles only 2 frozen ones. I did also have frozen cycles that failed. Anyway....

Day 2 or 3 Went in for BW and baseline sonogram; start estrogen either pills or patches. I prefer pills.
Day 7 went back for Endometrial Biopsy(to help embryo(DS) implant but not common
Day 10 BW and sonogram; continue estrogen and added prednisone(not common but helps uterus from rejecting the embryo)
Day 13/14 BW and sonogram began progesterone plus other meds
Day 19 transfer day continue meds plus lovenox(not common but I have a clotting disorder)
Day 21 progesterone check
Day 28 beta and progesterone
