Re: Okayyyy

Check out the TTC board. It is extremely helpful to know about all the things you can do to help the process along and not just leave it to "winging" it. Good luck!

Read Taking Charge of Your Fertility. Worked 3 out of 3 times for me on the first try. I went purely by cervical fluid (didn't even temp) and it's so easy. I didn't want to bother with ovulation predictor kits, etc. It's also worked for many of my friends (who'd tried unsuccessfully for months and then got pregnant in the first month after reading TCOYF).

Re: Okayyyy

Both times fertility tests worked for me on my very first month trying and getting a positive ovulation indicator (monitor first time, happy face tests the second). Good luck!

Don't read TTC it will make you go crazy! Those ladies have no shame and it will make you think a million things you don't need to.

I used the app My days and Fertile Friend to track my ovulation. It worked, I got pregnant the second month of trying. We had sex every other day during my ovulation time.

Apps don't always work for most people. Just FYI

They typically follow a standard 28 day cycle with ovulation being around day 14 and not everyone has a cycle like that. OPK's and/or temping is the only real way to know when you ovulate.

Re: Okayyyy

TTC was the most stressful time of my life. Taking temperatures, ovulation tests, negative pregnancy tests, blah, blah, blah.
I say don't overthink it, just wing it for the first couple of months and then if nothing happens check out books and the TTC board.

Good luck!!!

I have a very standard 28 day cycle and those apps still were way off. I'm 8 weeks pregnant and my app says I'm only a few days late for my period. Ummm what? And that's after putting the info in religiously since January. I wasted months relying on the apps and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I got my BFP after tracking ovulation using OPKs for 3 months and making sure our timing was spot on.

I used MyDays and Fertility Friend. Put in my info from June/July and then started trying end of Aug. Conceived December.
I think the two main things that helped were temping and DTD every day or every other day from about 10 days after AF for a week or two.
I was on BC for so long I was so irregular. I didn't even think to test until a friend asked if I was charting my temp and I sent her a pic and realized that I should test and I got a BFP on my very first test.

I was only on the TTC board for a short time but it was only helpful and supportive for me. I didn't have a normal cycle at all so apps didn't work for me either and the TTC board helped me figure out that I had a short luteal phase, something I knew nothing about and I learned what OPKs were! TTC was not an stressful process for me but it was reassuring to meet other women going through the same.

Re: Okayyyy

i have to agree with just enjoying sex with your husband for a while. dont stress and dont go crazy until you feel like it's been too long and you should have been pregnant already.

Re: Okayyyy

I personally would just try the good old fashioned way of just have lots of sex for six months. If nothing happens then begin delving into the TTC boards and that whole side of it, It can make it very medical and procedural plus add extra stress that can counteract what you are trying to accomplish. Believe me if there are any issues they will present themselves in due time and then the real stress begins. For now just have fun and Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
