I don't even know what to call this post....
I was visiting DH's family yesterday and his stepsister (no kids) was asking me about "how the baby does in the car." I said "well she's in my uterus so I'm not really sure. " She then went on to tell me about her friend who went on a long trip and got carsick and then the baby got carsick and she kept referencing how the baby was sick. I confirmed that this baby was indeed a fetus and not born and in a carseat. I was going to question the baby's symptoms but then dinner was served.

Like my mom said red meat made her very sick when she was pregnant with me... and all my life, red meat has made me sick, too. Otherwise.... wtf?

Haha sorry, should have clarified- DH's stepsister is nuts and I wanted to share. Obviously a baby in utero cannot get carsick, but she really believed this could happen and though I was terrible for not understanding.
I was just as confused as you are!

Hmmmm I dunno. It's easy for us to know this is silly because we have so much knowledge of everything going on with our babies from TTC, conception, every week, and birth. So it's like the back of our hand. A person far off from pregnancy and baby stuff will not have that common sense yet especially if they don't know the mechanism of car sickness...kinda mean.

these are not the words of someone who has no knowledge of the process I never had a baby and know something growing inside me is not getting car sick (or so I think). I thought these were the words of a child.

This was a grown adult. The kicker, to me, was that she couldn't fathom how I didn't know if the baby got sick. She REALLY believed that this happened.
I wasn't trying to be mean, I just thought it might give you girls a little laugh. People say so many silly things to pregnant women and this was a new one!
