School photos/Irvin Simon

With everyone having fancy cameras now and professional photographers and Target portrait studios...do you guys still do the Irvin Simon photos anymore?

I'm contemplating just ordering the class photo and calling it a day.

I always bought it every year from her day care because it was just so darn cute and I like having it each year to look back on.

They always came out pretty good- I am not sure what irvin Simon is- our center didn't' use them/

I will still buy her school pics now that she is in elementary. I like the nostalgia of it.

I only buy a small package. The grandparents love getting them too

Also- I am not a believer in professional photo shoots. Her only professional shoot was her newborn. I won't ever do that again.

I take her Xmas card photos myself and that's about it

I like the class photos - even when DS looks dorky. :) But I usually buy the smallest package (after scanning the larger version).

As far as professional photos, we used to hire a friend to take yearly photos of DS, but we moved to LI and everyone here is too expensive. We decided to use the money on a really nice camera and DH takes the photos (he's a good photographer).

I will always buy those sometimes terrible pictures b/c it's part of the fun -

I do individual pictures at Target and order a year book which has all the grades class pictures in it.
