Stretch Marks
With my first pregnancy, I was lucky enough to come out with no stretch marks. Sadly with this second one, my midsection and hips are all stretch marked up
I wasn't too diligent about using any products to prevent anything while preggo, but now postpartum I am using both Bio Oil and Palmers stretch mark cream daily to try to undo some of the damage. Anyone with BTDT success in fading their stretch marks? Any chance they will actually go away over time or will they just end up less purple looking?

Re: Stretch Marks
I got stretch marks both times. I feel they just kinda fade but are always there. For me I don't anticipate mine ever fully going away - the skin is damaged.

Wear them with pride! You earned your stripes!
(Sorry, but stretch marks don't go away, they may just fade.)

This! They can't be prevented, and they can't be erased. They do fade over time though. I am 5.5 year, 3.5 years, and 17 months out (got a different set of stretch marks each pregnancy), and the oldest ones are a very very pale pinkish now. The others are just a little darker pink. I actually love it because having a different set for each pregnancy tells a story. My oldest loves to look at them and tell me which ones came from him, his brother, and his sister.

Re: Stretch Marks
Anything they sell to prevent or fade stretch marks is a scam You can't prevent them, they are genetic and have to do with the way your skin reacts to the stretching. Some people get them, others don't.
I never used a thing and never got them, neither did my mom.
Others would oil up daily and still get them.
It's really all about how your individual skin reacts to the growing belly, etc
I believe they fade on their own over time, but they don't ever go away completely

Re: Stretch Marks
I never got them on my belly, but I did get them on my boobs and butt. They have faded so much you can barely even see them. But everyone is different. I have friends whose stretch marks look brand new even years later.

Stretch Marks
I didn't get any with my twins, but they were terrible with my second pregnancy. I researched a lot and kept coming across coconut oil. As others have said, they don't go away, but they have gotten so much lighter. I'm 9 weeks post partum and they are almost the same color as my skin. I use it 2x a day.

Re: Stretch Marks
I had no marks with the first 2. This time I already have a 3-4 small ones low on the belly. I'm going back to the regimen I used with the first 2, and these will have to deal with laser surgery I've heard it works for most). I used olive oil and Mustela the first 2 times. Started again 3 weeks ago and have zero new marks.
I'll let you know if the Mustela gets rid of them
