Im wondering...
Does anyone have an IDEA (and I wont hold you to it) how successful IVF in GENERAL is for women 45 and over.
Assuming no medical problem that would prevent a pregnancy.

I'm on the verge of taking medication that is not recommended at all if you want IVF. The fact is I'm not really sure I care about having kids, but want to know what the options are.
If IVF success is SO low in women who are 45 then I will almost certainly choose the medication that will help another medical condition I have. For me If the chances are SO low that its not worth it then...well....its not worth it.
I appreciate any feedback.

Thats a hard one to say. Are there other alternative meds to take in lieu of this one?
Is this med long term? Can you stop it if you do decide to fo IVF?
Halle Berry along with many others got pregnant at 47 with her second so anything is obviously possible.

I am going to say honestly that I think pregnancy at age 45 is highly unlikely, esp if there are issues warranting IVF. And as much as many of us want to believe, there is almost no way Halle Berry had a natural pregnancy at age 47. Maybe she had frozen embryos from whenever, wherever, but just plain old sex? I really don't buy it.

There should not be any underlying issues.
Frankly we have never REALLY even tried to have kids. Not my choice....rather his procrastination.
And the meds I am going to take (if we both decide) is the BEST shot at ridding me of my Psoriasis. I waited 4 years to take the meds while he sat on his ass.
You have all actually helped me. Like I said Its not really any priority to have kids...but certainly at 45 I'm not holding my breath for any kind of "natural" process. And seeing that IVF is probably a low probability anyway, I think Im going to choose the meds.
I will still discuss with DH because it IS our decision. I would not do this if we both don't agree.
And yes, I am pretty sure I could come off the meds if we decided to IVF. Not sure how long I would have to be off before trying.

Im wondering...
I work for an ob and we currently have about 4 ob's over 45, that conceived via ivf. All of them used donor eggs.

My clinic: 5% of retrievals result in pregnancy
7% of transfers result in pregnancy
This is SART data for over 42, fresh cycle, non donor eggs

I agree.
I do have a friend that did IVF and put one embryo back and got lucky and had a baby at 45. I was told it was very rare and I know that now. Martha Stewart's daughter did natural cycles at New Hope and it worked for her. You will never know unless you try, but chances are so slim. Most celebrities that conceive over 45 use donor eggs or have frozen embryos.

It is a long shot. If you want to see what your chances are I would suggest going to a RE and getting blood work taken and having a consult asap. Or another option is donor eggs or donor embryos.
I'm sorry you are dealing with Psoriasis. I had a family member who dealt with that and it was hard. Best of luck with whatever you decide to do.

It makes me feel "better" about using the P medication. If I have such little chance of becoming PG, and THIS medication for P will do wonders, well then I think its a no brainer.

Crashing but have you had the shots? I have bad psoriasis and once had the shots (years ago for my wedding bc it was so bad on my arms, elbow and forehead) they worked amazing and I stayed clear for almost 6 months

I have not started it yet. I just got bloodwork and am getting all the pre certification done.
I have not 100% decided to do it. But the decision, now, is NOT because of IF. But everyone I speak to says it has done wonders.
