How do you handle unwanted Belly Rubs?

I have a family event coming up and there will be plenty of people there that I DO NOT want touching me (I really don't want anyone touching me, but especially these people) and I have a strong feeling they'll try to so I need advice!

How do you handle people touching you? Is it ok to stop them before they get to your belly?
What do you say?

I really don't want to be rude, but these people should not be touching me! HELP!!!

Well, if they ask just say I would prefer no rubs
keep you hands covering your belly when talking

YES, no one should touch you without your permission.

Thank you... great idea about keeping my own hands on my belly.

My fear is those who just touch and don't ask.

This never happened to me because I am a bitchh and people know better.

But if they approach you just say..." Excuse me! Please do not touch me. How would you like it if I touched your stomach?"

Embarrass them like they deserve to be embarrassed.

I was going to say, I must be the most unapproachable preggo, because no one has done this to me except my bff. Not even my mom!

OP, I agree with keeping your hands on your belly, or wear something that makes it hard to get to- a sweater coat, scarf, etc.

Or you could rub their belly right back and ask "how do YOU like it??"

On the contrary, I must have a face that says "touch my belly!" Chat Icon

I only got it a few times. But here are some tips

1- when you see their hand approaching, put your hand on your own belly where their hand is going.

2. Just flat out say, I don't feel comfortable with my belly being touched

3. Take a step back when you see their hand approaching.

I only had it happen maybe twice, most people get the message loud and clear that I'm not into that type of thing. Both times it was little old ladies and I jumped about 5 feet back so they couldn't touch me. One was a co-worker, one a stranger. I didn't feel bad either time.

How do you handle unwanted Belly Rubs?

I have only had belly rubs from friends because I'm still early enough that strangers don't know I'm pregnant, I could easily just have a fat stomach. It is really weird when friends touch though as the baby is still so small and certainly isn't against my stomach wall. I really don't know how to have them stop touching though. Good advice here for the future though!

This lol...In 2 pregnancy I have has 1 unknown person try to rub my belly and they got the death stare. She snatched her hand back real quick. No one tries to touch my child either..I must have a real good resting ****** face or something.

I would do the quick turn away if they reach in...Kinda like the unwated goodnight kiss on the first date.
