Bruininks-Osteretsky Test of Motor Proficiency (BOT) -- Provider needed

Has anyone's child been evaluated using this test? My son saw a physiatrist over the weekend, and she would like him to be evaluated using this specific measure. She said that most school districts do NOT use this test as it measures more specific motor skills than are typically tested for the education setting. Essentially, he did not qualify for PT for his first year in CPSE after having it from 18 months - 3 through EI. I am seeing a big regression in skills. The doctor feels that if I bring the results of this test, he should receive services.

So, essentially, I am looking for somewhere to take him to get this test done. Does anyone have any referrals? I have a Rx for the test, so hopefully insurance will cover it. Any help or insight is apprecatiated.

Lots of providers use this assessment tool. The PT I work with and I often use it (public School District setting). She does the Gross Motor subtests and I do the Fine Motor subtests. Is he school aged or PreK? It's a good test, but I find the results are the same as other tests I use. It has never "qualified" a student. PT in school is all about safety and participation (Physical Ed, Playground, Stair climbing) if your DS is having difficultly with those skills and already receives services, he wouldn't need really low scores on a PT Eval to warrant services.

Thank you. I did the PT piece and he scored at the 21% percentile. Pt noted in report that if he was tested only 3 days later, he would be at the 16%. School is going to do Peabody and see what we get and then reconvene.
