Did you find out the results over the phone, ask them to write it down, or wait until you went in to dr? I'm so torn. I know I want to find out the gender and can't decide if just finding out over the phone will be uneventful. With DD we found out at 20 week sono and it was exciting, but now I'm not sure what to do and if I'll even be able to wait once I get that call.

They called and gave me the results of the other parts of the test and I asked them to write it down. I then went straight to the dr to pick it up. The first time we took the envelope to the beach and watched the sunset together and opened it. They actually gave us a copy of the test results so it took a minute to find it and interpret. This time I brought the envelope straight home and we opened it with my DD (who had no idea what was going on). This time it was a post it note lol.

They called and I immediately told them not to say sex. I had them call my ob office and the receptionist there wrote it down in an envelope and I picked up the envelope so I could find out with dh together.

I actually gave the envelope to my neighbor and she baked a reveal cake for us and I waited until dh was home from work

When they called with results, I asked them to write it down and they mailed it to us. We then took it to a bakery and they make a cake for a reveal based on what it said. When we had long-distance family visiting we did a little reveal.

So we waited an additional 3 weeks after the results were in! But it was still earlier than when we found out with #1.

I had the geneticist leave me a voice message so that my DH and I could listen together. Between the time she left the voice message and the time he was able to speak was only about 30 minutes but it felt like forever! We listened to the voice message at the same time and it was very special, still very eventful for us!

I asked for them to tell me over the phone. They had called me after hours on a Friday and said I could pick it up in an envelope on Monday but after already waiting 2+ weeks for the results, we didn't want to wait any longer.

Our plan, originally was to have it written down but because they didn't get enough sample the first time, they only ran half of the test that we ended up waiting 2 weeks to get the results. I had to go back to run the other half which included determining the sex. Since I then waited another 2 weeks and they called me with the results on a Friday, I couldn't take waiting until Monday to pick up the results so I just had them tell me and I called my dh right after.

I had them put it in an envelope and went right to the bakery. Picked up a cake two days later and found out with all of our parents.

They told me over the phone. I was in the bathroom at work. I cried I was so happy. It didn't ruin it at all for me!

ETA: They gave me a choice as to when they'd call me so I said after 7pm so I would be home. But then my OB called to say she had the results and I couldn't wait a few more hours for them to call me at home with DH. I was to excited!

The results weren't in by the time I had my next appointment. They called me a day or two later and told me everything came back normal and asked if I wanted to know the sex. I said YES. I was in a parking lot sitting in my car. LOL. I surprised DH when he got home.

I met with the geneticist, who wrote it down and sealed it in an envelope. Interestingly, she told me to ask for it back from the bakery (which I wouldn't have thought to do) to double check for accuracy.

The irony is that the bakery didn't hold onto it. They opened it, looked at it and wrote it down, resealed it and gave it back to me! Meanwhile, DH was out of town so I has to wait two days for our gender reveal with the stupid, sealed envelope in my possession! Torture. We cut the cake, just DH, DD, and I.
