Best School Bag out there for a Kindergartener?
Need a new back pack for DD--something that would fit folder sized books etc.

I love the Swiss army ones. The best IMO. I paid 30.

Got ours at Target. Not sure about this time of year but in August they had tons of character backpacks.
They don't carry many books at this age so I wouldn't go crazy with an expensive one.

DS had and actually still has the regular size backpack from Pottery Barn. It was in perfect condition to use again this year.

If you are looking for something to last - I would go with Pottery Barn, LL Bean or Lands End.

1st Grader is using the one I got him last year for K, and PreSchooler's is new

Plus she insisted on a character one. She wouldn't have gone for a plain one from LL Bean or PB or anything
At this age I only need it to last the year.
I don't' mind buying a new one every year for a few years

In Kindergarten we went through 2 bags before we finally bought the LL Bean bag. That ended up lasting and we're using it again this year. It's holding up so well I'm sure it'll last him into next year as well.

This exactly! When DS was in Kindergarten he had an inexpensive character backpack and it lasted the year. Glad it did bc he'd come home with some art projects that had glitter, wet glue, or paint, etc and would get in the backpack. Glad I didn't spend a fortune on it. He also forgot to close his juice once and it spilled all over the bag. I can't trust an expensive backpack with him. LOL!
This year he's using one from last year we got for his kindergarten enrichment class he went to twice and week and it still is in great shape. That poor bag gets dragged on the floor, thrown around and shoved in places... not worth spending the money.

LL Bean Junior lasted DD from K-2 and still looks new.
