I like bananas but hate banana flavored things (weird, I know). I did love the texture of the plain banana ice cream though. So this sounds yummy! Was it very banana-y?

I make something similar as a smoothie each day for breakfast. Frozen banana, cup chocolate almond milk, tsp peanut butter and cinnamon. Blend till thick. It's very good and filling.

i've seen recipes on pinterest... for different flavors.

what i made was:
* 1 1/2 frozen bananas, cut into chunks
* dash cinnamon
* cocoa powder (i didn't measure, i just dumped some in)

blend like crazy

it was chunky and not smooth, so i grabbed a little coconut milk i had. scraped the sides and started blender again. as it was blending, i drizzled a little of the coconut milk in... just enough to make it look right.

i didn't even add anything to sweeten it. the bananas were quite ripe and very sweet.

i was happier than a fat kid with real ice cream.
even SO (who refuses to eat anything "healthy") said that he would be happy to have that instead of going to cold stone all the time.

Here's the one i followed, I didn't use the choc chips but I did put chocolate syrup Chat Icon
INGREDIENTS:
4 medium-sized bananas, cut into 1-inch pieces and frozen
1 cup frozen cherries
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon to 1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk, as needed
2 tablespoons mini vegan chocolate chips

Instructions:

1. In a food processor, combine the frozen banana pieces, cherries, and vanilla extract.

2. Process until creamy, adding almond milk one tablespoon at a time as necessary.

3. Pulse in the chocolate chips. Serve immediately.

Ooooooh, we LOVE our banana ice cream! Usually don't add anything, just keep blending til it's smooth and creamy. Funny, I find it very banana-y, but to me, that's good!

Sometimes my kids put chocolate syrup on top. I like the idea of adding cherries and vanilla, going to try tonight.

I buy the bananas in Waldbaums from the "clearance" produce shelf. $ 1 for a huge bunch of overripe ones :D
