accuracy of gender at 13 weeks

I had a sono today - I'm 13 weeks - to check for Down's markers and I asked the tech if it was too early to tell the gender. She said it's a little early, but she'll try. She predicted boy.

Anyone know how accurate she could be at this stage? We're doing Maternit21 next week so by mid-November we'll know for sure.

With baby #3 I was told at 14 weeks it was a boy, she's a girl . I wouldn't buy anything yet like I did lol, but you never know, they could be right.

I wouldn't trust anything that early. But hey, if she said boy it's either there or not.

My OB last time around refused to even make a guess that early because of how unpredictable it is. So I wouldn't start any shopping just yet, but you never know!

You can have Maternit21 sooner! I'm only 10.5 weeks and I had it today!

With DD for the Nuchal Screen I only had the sonogram and I asked to guess. The sono tech said girl and she was right.

This time they wouldn't guess during the sonogram but we had the Materni21 done and it's another

my doctor guessed the sex of the babies at 10 weeks. i'm now 16 weeks and he still says the same thing.

I think at 13 weeks, both boys and girls have a genital bump that can resemble a penis. The girls genitals will recess as they grow. I would probably be more skeptical if they said girl since it sounds like both sexes have a little nub at that point.

My Dr told me at 12w that he was about 75% sure it was a girl, confirmed with Panorama test.

I was told at 14 weeks I was having a girl. The tech told me she was 100% sure. She was right.
There was a recent study completed showing that sex can be correctly determined in 98% of cases at 13 weeks assuming the fetus cooperates.
I read it not that long ago, they also gave stats for 11and 12 weeks. They were in the 60-70% rate.

I knew for all 3 by 12 weeks

Mine predicted girl at 12 weeks. And it was a girl

Someone very skilled can tell at 12w.

With my 3rd, my tech told me we were definitely having a boy at 12 weeks. Yup, she was right.

Maternit21 results came back in less then a week so you'll know soon enough!
