How to deal with high pressure boss?
Can anyone provide any tips on dealing with a boss that puts lots of pressure on you?
I've been at my job for two months now and my boss is putting an unbelievable amount of pressure on me. She isn't in the office much so I've received basically no training and she isn't accounting for any sort of learning curve. Recently she told me that she doesn't like me asking her questions via email because it distracts her and affects my productivity, and appears to be irritated when I knock on her door to ask something in person.
She has obvious trust issues as well. I requested that I come in a half hour early and leave a half hour early when we were negoiating and she granted that request. However, she asks me if I "have difficulty getting in on time and starting on time" when she has no reason to believe I'm not here when I'm supposed to be. If she really wanted to, she could even take my building ID to security to check when I swipe in - but she hasn't done it yet. The one time I walked in literally 5 minutes late she made a comment. It makes me paranoid. That's not healthy.
I have to stick it out for a year. I have no choice. But I need to figure out how to cope with this in the meantime. I haven't been sleeping well and cried leaving the house this morning. Advice is greatly appreciated.

im sorry you are going through this! i've had jobs where i had panic attacks. i didn't stay long.
one of them i just stuck it out to make money for our wedding. that got me literally through the day, thinking of the end game. maybe put a countdown app on your phone to look at when you are having a bad time?
i'd make sure i get in a little earlier than your start time so she doesn't have shit to say, but beware this type always finds shit to say. that's their personality. nit picker or the "gotcha" asshole. try your best not to let it get under your skin. i know its easier said than done.
best of luck

thanks. she's got a high turnover rate. I actually questioned it at one point and she gave me very reasonable explanations. but now I get it. my goal is to be out summer 2016.
