Restoring antique Jewelry
I would like to have my grandmothers engagement and wedding band fixed. She passed a few months ago and left her rings to my mom. They had to be cut off while she was ill. The rings are platinum. I took them to my local jeweler and he said bands cannot be saved but he could reset the diamonds for me in another setting. I want to have it restored including the band. My grandmother never took off her rings even after my grandpa passed away 10 years ago. This would mean so much to my mom. Anyone know a really great jeweler or someone who specializes in restoring old/broken rings.

How many pieces did they cut the ring into? A jeweler should be able to re-shank the ring.

A good reputable jeweler should be able to fix them. Post picks of the cut please.

Re: Restoring antique Jewelry
This is the jeweler I got my engagement setting & wedding band from...he also fixed 2 pieces of 1920s/1930s pieces that were my 2 grandma's so I could wear them for my wedding...he specializes in antique and antique recreations...and he great to work with.
