Spectra S2
Side question sparked by the breast pump thread - I just ordered the Spectra S2 through my insurance. It seems like there's not really a lot of info on what kinds of bottles/milk supply system can work most easily with it, and I have read that the stuff that comes with it is not great (though the pump is awesome). Has anyone used and has advice for what accessories to get to use with the Spectra S2?
THANKS!

Spectra S2
It comes with two bottles that you pump into. I pump into those and pour into my dr Browns or freezer bags bc I have a huge stash.
You can buy adapters to pump directly into smaller neck bottles
It's a great great pump tho. You're lucky insurance covers it

Google spectra medela hack. There's a way to get the medela bottles to fit with the spectra.
Also I believe Amazon sells 3rd party parts that are for the pump.

Re: Spectra S2
Does it come with a charger/car adapter? I wanted to switch to spectra rather than medela this time around but I thought I read that it didn't have a portable charger?

No, but my car has an electrical outlet that I just plug it straight in

Re: Spectra S2
Thanks so much for the info. It looks like the s1 has a battery charge as well?

Re: Spectra S2
I'm using both the Spectra S2 and S1 right now (after using the Medela Freestyle and PISA with my other kids). If you're short on bottles and need to buy some locally, the pump is compatible with Avent classic bottles. Also, you can use Avent classic nipples and MAM nipples with the Spectra bottles. A rep told me that if there is something not on their web site, you can usually e-mail them directly to get a price and place an order. As for a car charger, there's a vendor on Amazon who sells a third party car charger. I use the S1 when I travel or am away for an extended period of time since it has a built in rechargeable battery. Also, if you happen to have medela bottles, you can order skinny neck adapters from Spectra's web site in order to pump into medela bottles.
Even though Spectra doesn't sell accessories locally, I still like them more than Medela. I've never pumped out so much milk before and like that it's a closed system.
