ok thank you. someone said to me "just some advice.. tell people to bring their photo ID with them when they see you, otherwise they cant get in the building"
my jaw dropped. someone who doesnt carry a photo ID is offering ME advice. i.cant!!!!

When I am out with the kids, I often leave my wallet/purse in the car. i.e. playground, zoo, school, friend's house.
If it is on the weekends, I often leave my purse at home and do not take my id with me at all. DH is driving. DH has his wallet. I don't need my wallet or keys.
My driver's license is always with me when I am driving though so it is in the car with my purse.

Of course, the one time I didn't have my driver's license is the rare occurrence that I got pulled over 
The night before my sister and I had went out and I didn't want to lug my purse to the bar. So I gave her my DL and lipgloss plus some cash to hold in her wristlet. So, whoops, I forgot to get it back at the end of the night.
The next day, clear head, I go about my business and I'm driving and get pulled over. Yes, I was driving too fast.  so, the guy comes up to the car and he's like "license and registration". I go into my wallet and poof, missing. It hits me about leaving it with my sister.
I'm like, oh God I don't have it with me.
He goes, alllllllright, first, do you HAVE a license?
LOL!! I'm like OMG yes I have one, I'm so sorry, I went out with my sister last night and she held it for me and I never took it back. I only just realized.
He ran my plate, confirmed that I was in fact licensed, and gave me a break. He was a doll. Very nice. I got lucky.
So, after that, I'm careful to carry it!

No, if I'm out walking the dog all I have is plastic bags and my keys. Other than that I usually do since my id is in my wallet.

I work in a building with this same policy and it happens a lot, especially with delivery people. So we always mention it, too.

I actually run with my phone, ID, AND insurance card just in case anything every happens. I think it's out of habit since that's what I would carry when cycling and you never know what can happen if you are in an accident...
To answer OP question, I always have ID on me!

Never thought about it to be honest. If I go for a walk then I have no ID on me. When in my car I usually have my wallet so am all set...out with the kids and at the park with no stops in sight then no ID - but my DD would ID me...

OMG..I thought I was the only one.
A few people chuckled at me when I told them I did this.
I dated someone who never carried ID. He didn't drive but he had a NY State ID.
And for some reason it would drive me crazy that he didn't carry it.
