How doable is a 5k on Dec. 5th?
My co-worker wants to organize a 5k as staff bonding on 12/5. I really want to do it, but I'm not a runner at all! I do about an hour of cardio 2-3 times a week at the gym, and I could incorporate more running into that the next few weeks.
Is it doable? I don't want to embarrass myself!

I think so --- and you can walk if you need, correct? I know Couch 2 5K takes longer but if you have a base already, I think you'll be fine. And I don't think you'll be embarrassing yourself! You may be sore after but no reason to feel embarrassed.
Before I became a runner, I did the JP Morgan Corporate Challenge every year and never trained beforehand--it's 3.5 miles. I would run it slowly/walk some and would be sore for a few days after.
