Fighting a cold
My son is 18 months old and I noticed his nose is running and he is sneezing a lot today. I'd like to avoid a full blown cold or at least weaken the cold if possible. Anything you give your toddlers that helps with relief?

get the bathroom steamy before putting him in a warm bath.
I like to make sure DD is in warm PJ's like fleece.

Thanks everyone! Elderberry syrup is safe even under two? I'm due with my second in a few weeks so I'd like to get this out of the house asap!

Probiotics
Nasal suction
Warm baths
Nebulizer with saline
Good sleep. I let my dd nap wheneva she wants when shes sick even if its a lil later in the afternoon. Typically she doesnt nap
Vicks on the chest (never did the feet)

My DS is 17 months and has been battling a cold for over 2 weeks. Yesterday I took him to see the dr and because it was over 7-10 days and the coughing was getting worse they gave him a prescription (to get rid of the colored mucous) but prior to that dr said we could only do the following for his age group:
Humidifier
Baby Vicks (chest and/or feet)
A little honey mixed with lemon
Nasal spray
Unfortunately, nothing over the counter for the cold.

I've been giving it to DS since he was about 18 months because I figured it was just a food extract but I have ZERO medical training so that's just my "desperate to stop the germs" attitude talking
