Saf T Swim Question
Does anyone know their policy for quitting before using all of your sessions? We signed up for 5 sessions of 6 classes in June. Each session my daughter dreads it more and more. We have 2 sessions left. I don't even care about my deposit. They aren't overly friendly behind the desk and they've canceled classes recently and I'm basically over them, but I don't want to get stuck paying for the sessions if we don't go.

Re: Saf T Swim Question
I don't know the policy and would definitely push for a refund. Bit if they don't give one and your kid is miserable, don't even bother going to the remaining sessions.
Either way, the money is forked over. Forked over money + miserable kid, vs. forked over money + relieved kid. I'd go for option b and cut your losses.

Re: Saf T Swim Question
Not sure which location you go to, but do you think it's the instructor that is causing your daughter to dread the class so much? Perhaps consider changing instructors? I'm fortunate that my kids love theirs. Good luck!!!

Re: Saf T Swim Question
I have a feeling they do not do refunds but let me know.
We are on session 6 of a 12-pack that we paid for and all DS does is sit on the steps and play with toys...which he could in his bath...for free. But we are sticking with it hoping he'll have a breakthrough....

Re: Saf T Swim Question
My daughter loved swimming in our community pool every single day with me this summer. she was blowing bubbles for a long time, backfloating and kicking her legs and putting her mouth under water. She is very independent. She was super excited for swim lessons. she starts and was excellent the first day. the next class, she cried because they dunked her but she stopped crying and continued. the next day she was super excited but they dunked her again. she cried and refused to finish the class. but class 4 she was shaking and refused to go in. she never made it in the water. same thing class 5. she went from being so happy in the water to being so afraid. ruined everything. she was crying i was crying. it was bad. I will not let her go back. They do not do refunds, but I might fight with the credit card company. I don't believe we should have to pay for sessions we do not use.

Saf T Swim Question
They typically do not offer refunds, but will delay the sessions for as long as you want. So if you have 2 sessions remaining you can put them on hold indefinitely. Maybe try again when DC is a little older???
If you want to get a refund on your deposit, I would call and ask to speak with the manager. The front desk is usually just teenagers and some times the instructors during down time. If your child is really miserable, maybe they can make some suggestions or help you with a refund.

Re: Saf T Swim Question
We are on our second instructor and she LOVES her. It's the going under part that she dreads. We've tried with goggles, without goggles, with toys, basically everything. When we started it was summer and she was into "swimming" and jumping in because she would "practice" at my moms. Summer ended and swimming seemed to become less fun. I'm hoping next summer she'll go back. She made some progress, but hasn't in over a month and even regressed a little. I think we just need a break. She's 4.

Ok. I called and I got someone on the phone who was actually incredibly nice. He offered to talk to the instructor about not putting her under, but at this point I think we just need a break. He said I can postpone my 2 sessions and they will hold my deposits. So that is what I'm doing. I think we will try again in the late spring.
