Decisions Decisions..I need help!
I have a WWYD situtation. please give me your thoughts!! I had planned on starting next round of IVF as soon as my cycle started. AF has not shown yet. although I believe its imminent. (Im late and I dont know why b/c I got an positive OPK on 10/28 which would have been day 10. Both Dh and I were sick, so nothing went on at the time). Im coming off a chemical pregnancy and 10/19 was when I started bleeding after coming off the crinone.
RMA is closed from 12/24- 1/4 so they were trying to get me in under the wire. NO retrievals or transfers during those dates. if AF comes tomorrow, I would start BC for almost 2 weeks probably by friday; then stims for 10-11 days; this puts me at the possibility of retrieval around 12/16 or 12/17; and then possibly transfer between 12/20 an 12/22.
Here's my WWYD: Do you take this on while dealing with christmas and all the shit that goes with it? Trying to keep things as stress free as possible though right now. Part of me wants it done and over with b/c if it doesnt work, this is it for me and I can close the door on 2015 knowing I tried. (I can still try on my own). The money / benefits for medical intervention will have run out after a 2nd cycle. If I wait to January, it just prolongs it. and then If it works, thats another October baby (like DS..lol).
Obviously this is all a moot point if AF doesnt show within the next day or so.
I will call RMA again today and go over the timing with one of the nurses b/c i want to make sure I have it straight.

Personally, I'd wait until January, provided that your health insurance coverage won't change in 2016. It's just an extra month. I'd rather give birth in October than September anyway.

Re: Decisions Decisions..I need help!
I think I would make the decision based on AF. If she comes in time to do the cycle in December then I would go for it even if it's during the holidays. If she takes longer to show then January it is!
Best of luck!!!

I would move forward like IUI said, if for you that would mean you tried it all in 2015 and can let it go...yes.

OUr plan isnt changing for next year (although open enrollment just ended..I should double check with HR. It wasnt noted anywhere in the guidelines)
I worry about oct b/c DH, both my parents, and DS are all OCTOBER birthdays
Im thinking I just need to start with AF for DEC which will carry me into early january for stims and procedures.

It really depends when AF comes. I would be stressed if there was a time crunch. Like what if you needed to stim longer and they rushed you? I was always a slow stimmer and stimmed longer than they predicted. As for birthdays being in the same months that is the last thing I would care about when dealing with IF. I would wait until AF comes and take it from there. The office may make up your mind for you. Good luck!

If you are only going to give it 1 more shot, I think you should really weigh your options. Think about the optimal situatiom for getting pregnant. Some people might like doing it around the holidays because it's a distraction. Some people might become overwhelmed. Only you really know.

Re: Decisions Decisions..I need help!
If you don't get AF within the next 2 days, Dec is out anyway right? I personally don't care if my child is born on my, DH, or our parents' bdays. Maybe you're trying to avoid your DS and your future child having to share a bday? I guess I can understand not wanting them to have to share the attention when they're children. But really, I meant that I'd push it off not to have to worry throughout December about the clinic being closed when you are ready to trigger or have your transfer, etc.

Re: Decisions Decisions..I need help!
If I get AF again in mid dec they would still be aBle to start me on birth control and do monitoring as thats done in my office in Langhorne. Its their surgery center / embryo lab that is closed and they cannot do any retrievals or transfers. So by the time I would stim would be late dec so I would be ok.
I had originally planned to do it with AF in NOV but I still dont have AF yet anyway. so its out of my hands

well looks like my decision was made for me. Af showed today. I spoke with RMA and they agreed timing would be too tight. They said potentially they could, but it leaves very little room for error, and they would rather wait too.
So i'll just wait to start mid dec. with an estimated retrieval mid january.

Re: Decisions Decisions..I need help!
I was in the same boat timing wise with a Dec shut down. At first I was disappointed because I felt like yo, do it, get it done with but now I'm happy that mine won't be until January. I want to enjoy the holiday season with my son, not stress about dates, timing, interrupting activities planned etc. And I also don't want my holiday season ruined by a BFN if hat happens. I want to enjoy every minute since there may not be a second baby to enjoy it with again. And I totally agree with you on worrying about birthdays. Lol! I didn't want Sept-Feb., huge range I know. As a teacher I saw so many of my young fall birthdays struggle so I swore I wouldn't have a fall baby so I wouldn't have to worry about that or decide whether or not to hold them back a year so they wouldn't be four starting kindergarten. And I am a February baby and didn't like a bday so close to Christmas so I said no January and February. Then infertility laughed in my face I'm still thinking, oh crap an October if I get pregnant in January! Just wanted to let you know you're not alone in your thinking!

Alright well at least you have a decision made. It might be better to wait until after the holidays for the big stuff anyways. GL

I'd wait. The holidays are crazy. Stress plays a big part. Although I think it's good to stay busy just not too bust. Best of everything

I personally would wait until after the holidays. I would be too worried about the time crunch and getting in before the office closed. You just never know how things go during a cycle. I would be less stressed cycling in January if it were me.
