Is it too late?
to switch to a different OB? I'm almost 19 weeks and I'm just not in love with the group I see. I don't HATE them and they're not AWFUL but I just can't shake this feeling I have about them. I'm now on my 2nd scare with them due to bloodwork. The 1st was because my white blood cell was elevated (not by much) twice in a row...so they sent me to a hematologist to be tested for blood disorders and everything was fine... and now I have a slightly elevated AFP test so they're sending me to see a specialist and high risk OB because the AFP test points to an increase chance for spina bifida.
They're also already talking about doing a scheduled c-section because the baby was measuring "ahead" about a week but from what I've heard from other patients they are a "C section happy" practice.
And don't even get me started on their nursing staff. Holy moly are they rude!
Anyone switch Drs half way through their pregnancy? I'd really like to deliver at Southside since its so close to my house.
Any advice/recommendations will be greatly appreciated!

It's never too late...until the baby is born that is. Go with your gut.

Re: Is it too late?
I switched OBs at 16 weeks with my last pregnancy so I could deliver at Stony Brook. I had a terrible experience at Good Sam with my first pregnacy. So no, I don't think its too late. I would do it asap though just so you have a chance to get to know the Drs. I've heard wonderful things about Dr Vullo in west islip. Not sure if he delivers at Southside or just at Good Sam.

For real...
The OB I saw my first pregnancy, I swear if I were in labor and he was still my doctor I'd still attempt a switch!
