Need help with self-regulation

Would you share tips and strategies for self-regulation that we can do at home? My DS is 4 1/2 and has anxiety and a hard time calming down.

Need help with self-regulation

self regulating is hard. Alot comes from maturity but we have been trying everything with our 9 year old and it is the biggest obsticle we are dealing with. We are teaching breathing techniques, we have a twisty toy for her to hold and twist to relieve some anxiety, I have tried meditation apps on the ipod, we try writing down our feelings/emotions. Not much has worked for us yet as it is hard to get her to do any of these techniques while she is in "the moment" but we keep trying!!

A friend mentioned that the Breathe, Think, Do app helped her DS. I guess it's for youngers kids as it's a Sesame Street monster. I haven't tried it yet but I'll give it a shot.
