Re: Official April Mommas-To-Be!

Feeling pretty good! Except that my doctor called me fat at my last visit. Chat Icon Now I'm second guessing everything I eat. I thought I was doing well, too! I've gained 8 lbs. and I'm 18 weeks. Maybe it's the season- having all that Halloween candy around was pretty rough. I'm trying to make better snack choices now- fruit, nuts, peanut butter crackers, etc. But baby wants allllll the sweets. Chat Icon Ah whatever! And I'm dying to find out the gender- 2 weeks Monday and it cannot come fast enough!

How are you doing???

He/she actually called you fat? I'm up 18 pounds at 19 weeks and nobody is calling me fat! In fact, I don't think 8 pounds is much at all! I am with you with candy though, I have an insane sweet tooth but trying to stick more to fruit to satisfy it (though I end up eating the fruit and the candy).

Good luck on sono in 2 weeks!

Official April Mommas-To-Be!

I agree 8lbs is great. I'm up 15lbs and I desperately have to start watching my food intake since my sugars are creeping up. I had GD with DD #1 and had to take insulin. Hoping to avoid that route this time.
It's so hard because I"m still nauseous and the only thing that appeals to me is carbs...Chat Icon
Good luck on your sono!! So exciting!!

She asked me how my appetite was and I told her good! She said yeah- too good. You're gaining too much weight too quickly. Do you want to deliver a 10 lb. baby or a 7 lb. baby? She said every time I'm about to take a bite of a snack to hear her nagging voice in my brain. And now I do!!

After she left the room even DH was like "Ouch- that was harsh!"

I'm trying though!

Oh no!!! I'm sorry to hear the nausea is still lingering. That was so horrible. I hope you're feeling better soon- carbs were the only thing that helped with mine, too. All the ginger candies in the world and the seabands and lemon tea in the world couldn't do what a bagel did for me. lol!

Thank you!!! Everyone was super disappointed we didn't have a sono at the last appointment to find out. The reception desk had originally scheduled me for one so we thought for sure we'd find out then.

Eek! Well I hope my weight gain doesn't mean that I'm having a 10 pound baby. Everyone says I was underweight before getting pregnant so that may contribute but I don't think I was underweight. But still, it's a shame she made you feel bad. Yes, try to make healthy decisions but if your body is still gaining weight regardless, it probably means it's necessary.

I wanted to say to her "Do you not SEE my 6'8" husband sitting in the corner over there?" I don't think it's up to me if I'm having a 10 lb. baby. or not.

Hi Ladies,

I'm going for my level II sono tomorrow for Twins! has anyone not been able to find out the genders at their 20 week sono? Of course I'm more concerned about them being OK but we really want to know genders. Just curious if anyone had an issue with babies hiding their little parts. TIA!

Not here! The tech asked us as soon as she walked in if we knew the gender and when we said no, if we wanted to. She was a great tech- she was super excited to be the one to tell us. Chat Icon

As soon as she touched the equipment to my belly she looked up and said "I already know what it is!" I mean barely a second passed.

Good luck tomorrow!! It's torture not knowing- and you have DOUBLE to torture! Chat Icon

I was really worried we wouldn't be able to find out either. The scan was so long though- we were there for an hour! They were all over my belly from crotch to ribs- lol! Sorry if that's TMI, but I think they checked from every possible angle. She had her face covered for awhile- both arms over her face and the tech said she'd come back to that later. Which she did. Plus, baby girl moved around like crazy. At one point you could actually see her roll over. It was really cool! I'd be surprised if they couldn't tell- I know it happens, but this is a really in depth ultrasound.

Re: Official April Mommas-To-Be!

So I just had my GD test yesterday and it wasn't as bad as I thought. I made DH go with me since everyone kept telling me how sick they felt after. I felt completely fine. The drink wasn't so horrible either. It tasted like one of those orange quarter drinks you used to get in the bodega as a kid. I won't find out til Monday if I passed though. I'm really hoping to not have to do the 3 hours test! Chat Icon

How's everyone feeling???
