black beans or red beans....what to do with?

I have bags of the dried beans......

anyone have ideas besides the usual rice & beans? I don't even know how to make the beans into a tasty recipe!

there are a lot of soups you can make with the beans. I have googled "Navy Bean soup" or "red bean" & "soup" and have made some really spectaular hearty soups. Add a little tiny pasta, vegetables, broth, maybe a ham bone or sausage and viola.

I make bean cakes. I just cook up onions, garlic, black beans, cumin salt and pepper. Put in a bowl and add bread crumbs until they will hold a patty shape. Place on a cookie aheet and bake at 400 degrees for 12 min flip and bake for 12 more. You can use them for sandwiches or I like to make an asian stirfry and use the patties in place of rice.
