Red dress to a wedding?
Is wearing a red dress to a wedding a "no-no"? Feel like I heard this somewhere, but not sure if it's a real "rule." We have a wedding the Saturday night of Valentines Day weekend and saw these 2 dresses, but not sure if either one would be ok. Please let me know what you think of the dresses and whether they would be ok for a wedding. Thanks!

They would def be ok for a wedding. One of my colors for my wedding was red so my BMs wore red dresses. You def see reds at weddings in the winter!

The only thing I can think of is that in certain cultures, the bride wears red. I believe certain Asian cultures are like this.
My other caveat would be since it's right around Valentine's Day, the bridesmaids may be wearing red so if you don't want to match them you may consider the color.
Love the lace dress btw!

The only color that is a no no at a wedding is white, but I would just check with the bride ( or someone in the know) to make sure the bridemaids aren't wearing red.
You don't want to blend with them!

I wouldn't want to wear red to a wedding on Valentine's Day because I feel like I would match the BM dresses, the decor, the tablecloths, the flowers, etc., but no, I don't think there is a "rule" against it.

Any color but pure white, IMO is ok.
My bridesmaids wore red and I wouldn't have minded if someone wore red. My aunt wore cream and it didn't bother me.
I didn't really notice what anyone was wearing and didn't really see until I watched our video.

First of all, they're gorgeous! I especially love that first one! 
Second of all, I think red is totally fine. Though I think I've heard that it *might* be a no-no at a traditional Asian wedding. Don't quote me on that though. Otherwise, go for it.
My BMs wore black soooo clearly I didn't care if they blended in with the party.
ETA: I have also worn a red patterned dress to a wedding.

Thank everyone. I will not have a chance to find out what the bridal party is wearing - I have never met the bride. The groom is an old friend of DH's who he still speaks to but hasn't seen in a long time. If I asked DH to ask his friend what the bridal party was wearing he'd give me this    . Not worth the trouble lol!

Of course you can wear red to a wedding. Both dresses are beautiful!! My BM's wore red but if someone showed up to my wedding wearing red it wouldn't bother me in the least.

Don't bother as my dh told me that the wedding party he was in was wearing blue because they had the guys wear blue (inside jacket) and the girls all wore purple, the color I picked to wear lol.
