Line therapists changing without real notice?
I know I'm out of state but i was wondering if maybe it worked across the board. Is a coordinator allowed to switch your line therapists without asking you at the very last minute? My daughter gets ABA 5 days a week, 3 hours a day. We have had the same 3 therapists (1 lead, 2 lines) since we moved to SC last year. Our main coordinator is new, our last one moved a few months ago. In august we spefically tailored DD's school schedule to match our team so there wouldnt be any changes.
Tonight I get an email from her stating that my MWF girl will only be working Wednesday with us as of next week. And her replacement doesn't start until friday. So not only is my girl missing one day of therapy this week, but now we have a to get a whole person that is just being trained this next week! Our line didnt even know that this was happening until I texted her asking her what the heck is going on. The reason the coordinator gave was that other students and other therapists schedules changed (no one on my team). I'm DD takes forever to adjust to new therapists, ask our summer pm girl, it took 3 months for DD to pair with her and by then it was the last week of pm sessions!
I understand it may be sounding selfish, but my girl last year was completely non-verbal having meltdowns that lasted anywhere from 45 mins to an hour. She is a completely different girl now, she talks, and her melt downs are few and far in between. This team has really been great for her and she loves them.
Sorry, This may have been more of a vent than I intended.
