great Indian Food in Nassau or near Long Island City
Going to a show in Long Island City on Valentine's Day with my DH. Would love to go for Indian food after. So somewhere near Long Island City, or on the way home, in Nassau.
If the place is on the dressier side, even better! TIA

not sure how the food is, but I went there for happy hour on the roof and it horrible
but, the food did smell good.

I heard mint in garden city by the mall is really good.
My DH and I went there over the summer
The food is good but we hated the atmosphere and the service stunk.
We have been to Akbar by the mall and it's ok, not amazing but good
We aren't the best judges thought and have only had Indian food a handful of times

The best Indian food on the island is in Hicksville, in my opinion. I would definitely go there if you are looking for really outstanding authentic indian food.

Yes- Hicksville has tons of places Diwan is good. Chennai Dosas is REALLY good. I'm not sure if they are open for dinner though? both very good but Hicksville has lots of places around old country rd and 107

Yaar in Astoria, right near the N and Q on Ditmars...delicious
Theres also an amazing food truck on Center Blvd in LIC (Hunters Point?), the owners are soooo nice and make great food, always a line. I think it's called Magik Masala.
ETA Yaar is BYOB :)

i live arond the corner from Yaar! its AWESOME!!!! and yes, BYOB!!! theres a liquor store across the street for your convenience

Akbar near Roosevelt Field Mall - best authentic Indian food. My husband and I go there every week.
