Dog help .... please don't move

Just need some ideas how long it took you to potty train your puppy and how they did in the crate?
We have a 9 week old Labradoodle. We just got her a week ago so it's still early. We've been crate training her and take her out every hour to 2 hours. She's having some accidents here and there but does go outside no problem. Now she just hates the cold and snow so it's been tougher.
I am trying to read the signs when she has to go, but it's only for when she has to poop she starts scratching at the wall then goes. She doesn't go anywhere near the door we take her out. I try to get her excited to go out, rewards when she does both outside, etc.

She is very happy and really good. Eats well too.

Any advise? How long does it usually take till they start really getting it? Like I said, it's only been a week and she's doing well, but figured I'd get some more ideas and advise.

Thanks

Our trainer taught us that anytime our puppy finished playing, ate, drank or woke up to take him out inmmediately. We bell trained him so as we went to take him out we maneuvered him to tap the bell in the door with his nose or paw. It was a lot of work, but he got the jist pretty quickly. Very few accidents after that.

Just get any bell or they sell something like that at a pet store?
Me neighbor does the bell so I should ask. I try to get her excited to go to the garage door, but she really doesn't like going out. That's the issue.

To be honest, it took our dog a long time to train and she will still occasionally have accidents and she's a year and a half. We have tried the bell, but it just didn't seem to click for her. She still will not "tell" you she needs to go out.

I bought a large jingle bell from Michaels and put some yarn at the top and tied it to the door knob. If you are worried about scratching the door, cut two small holes in a solo cup and thread the yarn through the top of the cup with the bell inside. As long as the bell in in earshot and you are consistent it should work well. Good luck!

Definitely must be taken out more than every hour/2 hours. I would say every 30 min. 9 Weeks is very young to hold it in that long.

I recently taught my puppy to scratch/bang a bell by the back door to use when he wants to go out. It's great. Just keep asking-Want to go out (or whatever you say to get the dog to go out) and take his paw or nose and push the bells.

Dog help .... please don't move

My DH found an app where we kept track of when she went. This allowed us to figure out how often we needed to take her out. For example if she was going every 45 mins we'd take her out at 40 mins. As she got older the time spread out and she learned to howl at the back door when she needed to go. It definitely took some work.

Thanks all. This is great advise!!
I write down every time she goes out, but I like the app idea so it keeps track of time.

Lots of time and patience... I know and it's only been a week. She's still so young.

Thanks!!
