I reached my breaking point
I can no longer eat chicken that is not completely anti-biotic free and raised cage free. Anyone else there too. I always loved to buy my meat on sale but I just can't not believe the size of chicken legs, thighs and breasts anymore. It's disgusting. It sucks because it has now doubled the cost of feeding my family. I wish the FDA would ban this all together. Eventually I will switch over all meats but the chicken is just gross

Re: I reached my breaking point
Yep. So expensive
I gave up when I saw the difference in color and size. Regular chicken seems to have implants compared to organic.
I try and buy organic ground beef too but shop rite only has small containers of it. Organic milk is $4 for a half gallon. Sickening how expensive it is and sickening to think about what might go into other things we eat.
Then again my dad says "they put a sticker on it and you believe them?" Lol
Sigh.

Re: I reached my breaking point
This is why I go to bjs. At least their prices are close to store sales but I find the store runs out etc.
We are only organic milk, eggs and antibiotic meats. It's frustrating that's it's so much more.
Here's my q - you can only find certain cuts of beef and pork as antibiotic free. What do they do with the rest of the animal? Or should I not ask!

The most popular cuts are sold to supermarkets. Some are sold to food service companies who in turn sell to restaurants. Some cuts are further processed (ground meat, sausage). Nothing on an animal is wasted.

I find trader joes to have the best prices on organic chicken, milk, eggs, and ground beef.
Thanks to anothe poster, I'm actually going to start to order a variety of beef cuts from an actual ranch.
