They do look very dirty. He is cute, but badly needs a haircut IMO. And yeah, after that feeding thing, she just grosses me out.
I have to agree. Hes adorable its a shame... She seems granola to the point of weird and extreme to me.

If any non-celeb mom looked like this, no one would bat an eye. Because she's a celeb people rip her to shreds for looking normal. But if she was all done up, they'd ***** about that too.

Yep..I admit to being grossed out by the bird feeding thing, but honestly I see a lot of love in these pics.. not dirt.
His face could use a scrub with a washcloth but he really doesn't look dirty to me otherwise. CPS would not be called for this.

I agree - my first reaction was that he looked dirty, but they are at an outdoor fair and I assume he's been playing in dirt and such. I think everyone is making a bigger deal out of it than it really is. She seems like a very loving mommy and he looks like a very happy little boy who clearly adores her. She might be a little granola, but she's doing a great job

I can only speak for myself, but part of my comment that they look dirty was bc literally there is food or dirt stuck on his chin and smeared on his nose. You can clearly see it in the first picture. her hair looks greasy and there's dirt or something smeared on her face in the first picture too. His jeans are grass stained and she's carrying a greasy pizza box in her bag.
The other part of it for me is the whole bird feeding thing. Just my impression, like she's too granola to wear deodorant or whatever.
If it's the summer where ever they are and they're at a fair, fine. Yes, they look relatively normal, but dirty for sure! I do not agree that it's a CPS case!

The kid probably just ate something and his face wasn't wiped yet. That calls for comparisons to "dirty kids" and CPS being called?
Seriously - the gonzo judgment on this one is astonishing. People need get off their high horses.
She's too granola for me but seems like her kid is enjoying time with his mom. A food smeared face and dirty pants? There are worse things in the world. Sheesh

I think she looks great and her son is adorable.
I'll admit that I had to look up the definition of granola cause it's been used multiple times here to describe her. I don't see anything wrong with it.
It seems (to me at least) that caring a little too much is a better choice than thinking it's "cool" to not GAF.

Idc, I stand by I think they look dirty. Not only the face but just like she doesnt shower often. She looks dirty, not ugly or bad because no make up but DIRTY.

Oh lordy, I said perhaps the CPS comment was a bit drastic.
So no, I do not think Alicia Silverstone needs CPS called on her. But I do think she needs to wipe her kid's face. And give him a bath. And wash his clothes. And get him some jeans that don't have holes in them.

Her hair definitely looks like it hasn't been shampooed in a week.
I honestly don't know how I would do with a boy. I had a hell of a time keeping my daughter out of the dirt when she was playing. Even at 9 she likes to get dirty, really dirty. It is really hard to keep a kid clean.

ITA! I think they look great! She seems like a great mom, and he seems like a little boy who loves playing in the dirt. They are at a fair, she isn't going to stop mid-fair to get him into clean clothing!
As for her hair, I am blond, and if I don't shampoo my hair every day, it starts to look like this pretty much 24 hrs after my last shampoo. Kind of greasy and a little darker in color. I hear about a lot of people who can skip days, but that doesn't work for me. Her hair is a very similar color to mine....so I really doubt she hasn't washed it in a week.

I don't see how these two look dirty. They look like they are out for the day. My son is always a mess, no matter how many times I wipe him off. He is a kid, who cares? She is most likely at a farmers market here in LA. They have them all over the place and all of them have little carnival rides for the kids. They are very dusty, so it is impossible to look pristine when you go. She also most likely was over dressed for the weather, it got pretty hot here last week. So my guess is that she sweaty. She may be granola, but that kid looks so happy, she must be doing something right.

Also FWIW my hair looks like that if I even go one day without washing it. It's quite possible that's she's been out in the sun sweating all day which would make your hair get greasy looking faster.

I think her outfit is nice and she looks cute. She's in her late 30s on and has no makeup on and hair pulled back. Little boy has something on his face but it could be cuts, I see w band aid on his arm. I am sure when they get home she'll wipe his face and he'll probably get in the tub at night.
I don't have a boy but when it's nice out and they go outside, dd is in preschool, she legit digs in the dirt and makes "a campfire" she had real dirt in her hair and on her face. She's a wreck. Sometimes I have to stop at the supermarket or drug store. I use wipes in the car but don't bother much as when we get home she'll take a bath. I hope no one thinks to call CPS on me!
Her little boy looks loved and she seems to be a great mom. Very down to earth and yes too granola for me but what-ever! - my nod to clueless.
