Retrieval timing question

So today I had blood and sono, my biggest follicle was 15 but most still around 11, some smaller, the PA said probably egg retrieval Friday or Saturday. Then later in the day the nurse called said my LH was beginning to rise so take a second ganirelex shot today, since my lh is rising do you think my retrieval might be earlier, or will the ganirelex hold it off. I'd already been on ganirelex once a day for 3 days.

Also I had 12 follicles on each side, I'm a little nervous about pain after egg retrieval, does it hurt more if you have more follicles?

Since they had you take a 2nd ganirelex, that makes me think you're retrieval might be earlier than Friday or Saturday. My guess is they'll trigger you tomorrow night for a Thursday retrieval. Follicles can grow 1-2mm per day and the trigger shot also causes them to grow a bit so you're 11's will have a chance to catch up. Or they might be able to hold you off another day or two which is good too!
Yes, you'll be crampy after the retrieval but I never had terrible pain. Just take it easy and rest. Good luck!

I agree with the OP. I would say retrieval Thursday or Friday.

I think Friday/Saturday sounds about right. People take ganarelix for 4-5 days. If 5, you'll take your last one on the 25th, trigger 26th and retrieval will be 28th (Saturday)
If 4, you'll have your retrieval on the 27th (Friday)

ETA: yes, if you have more follicles you could hyperstimulate which isn't comfortable. I found I was in significantly less pain with Lupron trigger rather than HCG.
