Sort of spin off to picky eaters thread
Would anyone be willing to share what their DC ate today? I think I recall when I joined this site 4 years ago, there was a thread where everyone shared what their child ate that day. I feel like it could be helpful to moms dealing with picky kids, or just to get some more ideas. Or maybe, when I share what my almost 3 yr old DS ate today, you will no longer feel bad about what your child eats. It is awful.
breakfast- 1/2 bowl of cascadian farm fruitful o's, 1/2 a banana morning snack- applesauce pouch lunch- 2 turkey sausage links, raspberries, yo baby yogurt, yogurt drops- yes he still eats those afternoon snack- another yo baby yogurt, 1 bite of string cheese, 1/2 banana dinner- we ordered in chinese- 4 spoonfuls of wonton soup and one bite of beef w/ broccoli- and the one bite was beef. Not one veggie all day. I am dying over here!! There is way too much dairy in his diet but it's all he wants- milk, cheese, yogurt

Re: Sort of spin off to picky eaters thread
I'll do yesterday for my 3, since they stayed home from school for being sick. We also observe lent, so no meat on Fridays.
Breakfast- whole wheat waffles (2 for DS and he eats them plain, 1 each for my girls and they eat it with blueberries and strawberries)
Snack- DS ate grapes and a cheddar cheesestick, girls ate yogurt each and split a banana
Lunch- whole wheat crackers, tuna salad (tuna, mustard, Greek yogurt, celery, carrot), and green olives. (My 1 DD skipped lunch and took a nap)
Snack- chocolate zucchini bread and my 2 YO DD ate carrots and cucumbers with Italian dressing.
Dinner- black bean burgers with spicy mayo and lettuce and tomato, sweet potato fries and small salad. (My DS won't eat salad so he ate peas instead and had 2 burgers, girls ate 1 burger each and the fries and salad)
Dessert- small brownie with blackberries and whipped cream
My kids are only allowed water during the day, and they get watered down juice with dinner only.

Thanks ladies for the ideas! I just have to say that I guess dealing with 4 little ones plus being 24 weeks pg with # 5, has fried my brain. We are practicing Catholics and yet we ordered Chinese last night and got beef w/ broccoli & wonton soup as part of our order. Oops! Thanks for the reminder, I have put my alerts in my phone for the next few Fridays lol.

Re: Sort of spin off to picky eaters thread
The daily thread sounds like a great idea! DS1 (he'll be 3 in May) is kinda unpredictable, some days he is great and some days not so much, this is what he ate yesterday:
Breakfast: pancakes with spinach and asiago cheese (u can just add anything u want to the pancake batter) and a glass of milk
Lunch: yogurt with sprinkled flaxseeds
Snack: goldfish and coconut water (what can I say, not the best combination but DS loves coconut water and adores goldfish lol)
Dinner: shepherds pie (from the blw cookbook, DS is already a toddler but I still use that cookbook cause it has great and quick recipes)

Love this idea! DS is almost 4. Yesterday's meals were: Breakfast: waffles and a banana AM snack: strawberries and goldfish Lunch: I packed chicken nuggets for school but he didn't touch them. A after school I got him a slice of pizza bc he was starving. Dinner: a few bites of leftover beef stew with vegetables, and a yogurt.
I try not to give an afternoon snack unless he doesn't want his lunch at school because then he doesn't eat his dinner.

Re: Sort of spin off to picky eaters thread
Dd is 4 in April Bfast- we made chocolate chip cherry muffins (this "healthy" gluten free whole grain brand with probiotics). Got it becaus it was super sale and came out delicious! She also ate extra cherries.
Lunch- we ate chipotle and she had a cheese quesadilla, pinto beans, guac and shockingly chicken from my salad. Had a milk
Dinner- pesto on brown rice noodles with baked chicken breasts with fresh mozzarella on top and garlic broccoli.
She also had a Lindt truffle from the Lindt store at the mall and I know dh gave her a snack when I was napping wirh the baby but I don't remember what that was.

Dd eats any and all fruit in most forms (fresh, dried, frozen) but still working on veggies...she loves garlic broccoli, cucumber salad, fresh peppers, and carrots in stew but I think broccoli is the only veggie she was ask for more of. Everything else she knows she has to at least try.
What works for us is give her only a little of what she likes like pasta, pizza etc and the veggies so if she wants more noodles I tell her after two bites of veggie.

90% of the time I have to sneak them into sauces or I grate it into rice! But my MIL makes this awesome beef stew and adds all these veggies and so far he loves it.

Lol!
It's terrible. He refuses to try anything new so we are on a rotation of the five foods he's been eating since a little before a year old. I did get him to try a strawberry recently by dipping it in chocolate. He still didn't like it but it was the first time he'd had a piece of fruit that wasn't a banana in way too long. I'm jealous of everyone on this list!
