Trumps Kids - Cant vote in Primary
Guess who WONT be voting for the Donald in the primary? That would be Ivanka and Don.
They forgot to register as Republicans in time.

Well, to be fair, the NY clause of changing your party so far ahead (6 months) is kind of ridiculous. I just found out about this.

I find it amusing. But from what I've read, his campaign has had some organizational issues and this seems to be one of the things that fell through the cracks. It's not really a big deal because he'll win by a landslide but I would have loved the irony if he'd lost by 2 votes.

I got caught in this. When changing parties, they send you the voter registration form. No where on the form does it say that there is a different time period for changing your party for the primary. It states: Mail or deliver this form at least 25 days before the election you want to vote in.
But on the website it states:
To Change Your Party Affiliation
You can change your party affiliation by obtaining a Voter Registration Form, indicating the change and sending it to the Board of Elections. We will process the information and send you a new voter card reflecting the change in party. You cannot CHANGE your enrollment and vote in the NEW PARTY of your choice in the same year. Please Note: a change of enrollment will go into affect one week following the General Election. The last day to change your enrollment is the same as the last day to register for the General Election (25 days prior to the date of the General Election).
It is very confusing.

I know Ivanka made a large donation to Hillary in 2008 and Romney in 2012. But I haven't seen anything specifying that she or her brother was with a party.
There is a bill in the NY legislature now that would make NY's primaries open, but it will not be voted on in time for this primary.

This reminds me of my FIL. He has tried to change his party several times but for some reason, it won't go through no matter how many times he hands in the forms. He gave up at this point but he swears it's a conspiracy and his original party is trying to force him to stay

Chelsea Clinton and Ivanka Trump are friends. They are both registered democrats. They both married and converted for their husbands. They have a lot in common.

This is my life! I have tried and tried to change over the years and it never goes through! I don't care enough to investigate, but I find it funny.
Last night Ivanka and Eric claimed to be registered independent and missed the deadline, which is kind of ridiculous in NY 6 months to a year. You barely know the candidates then.

If you watched the Trump and family special last night, they both said they are registered Independents which means they cant vote in any primary.
Also, it wasn't Donald Jr. it was Eric. And Ivanka didn't convert her political party - she converted to Judaism. This was all addressed on the special last night.
