Which one - Cadillac XT5 (or SRX), Chevy Equinox, Buick Enclave, or Chevy Traverse?

If you were looking for an SUV/Crossover and you HAD to choose between these cars (I have to stay in the GMC family of brands) which would you choose and why? I currently drive a Nissan Rogue and while I like it, I would prefer something slightly larger since we're expecting baby #2 in November. Curious to know from those who own any of these how they like them and if there is anything in particular that made you choose the one you have.

I haven't crossed it off completely but I'm not totally in love with the way the front end looks. It's a little more boxy looking than the others, which are more cross-over looking. But I'm open to it since I've hear it's very nice.

I have a 2016 Acadia Denali and love it.

The 2017 is a little different looking. Still a little boxy, but it's a great truck.

You have a large price range there. I ended up with the traverse awd 2lt with captains chairs in the second row. Personally, having two kids, I thought the equinox was too small so that was out of the running. The Acadia is very comparable to the traverse, but slightly more expensive.
If we were able to spend more, I definitely would have considered the buick enclave.

I am happy with the car, but the gas mileage stinks (im getting the same mileage out of my 2005 explorer as I am out of my 2016 traverse). Its a smooth right and very comfortable with two car seats. But i also dont love the pick up on it while accelerating.

Thank you! I'll take a closer look at it. I have heard a lot of great things about the Acadia. I know it's a very popular choice. It looks substantially larger than the Equinox and even the Traverse. Does it feel like you're driving a larger SUV?

This is very helpful! Yes, there's a huge price range. It would be a company lease, so price isn't much of a concern since we get employee pricing. The Equinox is my DH's choice, but I was worried it might be too small, so hearing that you agree is confirmation enough for me. We have a 7 year old and we'll have a newborn, plus a dog that rides with us sometimes. I think the Traverse or something in that size range would better suit us.

I hate the pick up on my Rogue right now, so I'm glad you mentioned that about the Traverse. Its also a larger vehicle with more weight to move.

How would you say your Traverse compares size-wise to the Enclave?

I have no personal experience but my DH's friends wife raves about her Enclave.

Re: Which one - Cadillac XT5 (or SRX), Chevy Equinox, Buick Enclave, or Chevy Traverse?

DH and I are on our second SRX, and we will be purchasing the XT5 in the fall when this lease is up.

With a growing family, I'd go with something bigger like the Enclave. It rides great, we test drove one when our first SRX lease was up, but I felt it was big for just the two of us. DH disagreed, he loved the size of it. Bigger = better. We don't need the 3rd row or all the cargo space.
The Traverse is similar to the SRX, I believe they have the same wheel base. Can't comment on the Equinox.

We both love the SRX - it rides well, has plenty of leg and head room, and has that luxurious feel to it.

At first it did. I drove a Lexus RX before so it def was bigger. Now I'm so used to it and want my next truck to be a Yukon, Yukon XL, Suburban or Tahoe lol.

the traverse pick up is a little better than the rogue (my mom just got a 2016 rogue)...but i still find it lacking.

The enclave is almost the exact same size as the traverse, so i'd say its a great option for you

Okay, good to know! I'm playing around with building the Enclave online now and so far I Chat Icon Chat Icon

The Cadillac XT5 would have been my first choice but I don't think its large enough and even with the employee pricing I think it's too much for us.

For space and luxury? Enclave
For value? Traverse

If you do go to Paul Conte Chevrolet, please ask for big George and please tell him Joe and Michelle sent you. He's the best and will give you the best deal guaranteed.

I'm on my second Buick Enclave (2009 and a 2013) and I loved it. Very nice, very quiet ride. I have 3 kids and the space was good while it lasted! now that they are older and we travel a lot with team sports and vacations, when my lease is up next month, I am not getting another Enclave (much to hubby's disappointment). I am going to a Yukon XL. But the Enclave is super nice and probably the most expensive on your list.

I own the equinox and it's way too small. I had a Malibu before this and it had more trunk room. I love my car, but I want something bigger!
