yet another clomid question

i have to tell you, i hate taking pills, i honestly never take more than 1 tylenol at a time. so, i am a little freaked out about starting next week...

i just wanted to double check... you start taking on the 3rd day of your period? is any time better? can you have alcohol? ( my dr. didnt really go into this with me, sorry!)

the other thing is, i am going on a cruise on the 28th. i was told to come in on cd12 for a sono. are there any other days that i need to go in, or do i need to skip this cycle since i am going to be away?

thanks in advance for all your advice, dawn

I used to start on CD 5. Do what ever your Dr said to do. As far as missing the sono, ask your Dr. The sono is to see if there are any follicles in there. How long are you going to be gone?

each dr is differnet as is each person on the clomid. I started on CD's 2 and 3 on mine.

I drank on it with no problems.

I dont think starting it on a certain day makes all that much difference in in effects , no.

Also, I would speak to you dr about going on the cruise. Usually you will go on cd 12 and then it depends. Is it a natural cycle or IUI?

I would tell them your going away and see what they say.

I always did IUIS with my Clomid so I went in a lot.

GOOD LUCK!!! ! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: yet another clomid question

Some docs tell you to start CD 3, some CD 5. You don't want to miss your sono appointment. My original doc that put me on clomid did not have me come in for a day 10-12 sono and I started having bad cramping and it turned out my ovaries were overstimulated. You should be monitored for your reaction to clomid and when you are ovulating. Multiple sonos with clomid are normal, so maybe it would be best to skip this cycle if the cruise will interfere and try in naturally. Best thing to do is call the doctor and ask.
