Re: #StartAsking national infertility awareness week

This article is amazing. It is me right now and it said all the things I can't verbalize. DS is my life but the sad fact is, as I was in labor, I remember being overwhelmed with the sadness that I would probably never get to experience another birth. All of the shots, sonos, needles testing, miscarriages, IUI's, chlomid rage, negative tests....it all hit me during the most amazing moment in my life. I thank you so much for sharing this because I know I'm not alone or selfish for feeling guilty about being blessed to have a baby but mourning that sad reality that I will probably not be able to have another. Love this!!! I was touched by this sentence:

infertility doesn't end with the birth of a child. It lives on within you, in varying degrees, depending on the day. It doesn't end.

Once an infertile always an infertile.

Re: #StartAsking national infertility awareness week

I posted on friday about NIAW and wrote a long story about what I went through with two failed IVF's.

I honestly thought I would have had more positive feedback. I got very little feedback in general. and I then I had two friends message me. One asked me if I tried Preseed.Chat Icon Chat Icon
Seriously that is what you're going to ask me??

and then my mom's best friend reminded me of her sister and another friend who tried for years and years and years and then miraculously got pregnant on their own. THAT DOES NOT HELP ME.

I felt like the whole point of me writing was to avoid that. but no so.

Im going to share this article. Thank you!

I saw this on yahoo and was wondering if it was someone on lifamilies. It was something great and really put into words how I feel!

Re: #StartAsking national infertility awareness week

As I told you before, thank you so much for showing this and speaking from my heart and many others. I have a very difficult time watching things on TV about infertility. The fertility series on NBC Nighly news hit me so hard showing couples happily showing embryos from IVF and the couple who was in their late 30's and didn't want another baby yet and had their AMH tested and it was perfect so they chose to keep waiting. I was happy they were giving his knowledge a platform but what about the real people struggling? What about the 30 year old girl who was stuck with endo and found out her ovaries were too damaged to function normally or many other couples who have IVF just not work out the way happy endings do? I had such a PTSD moment with all of that fear and helplessness and jealousy that I couldn't have that perfect AMH. It doesn't get easier, even after children. You still feel broken.

they just like to show happy endings. makes for better news i guess. totally misleading.

at 36 when they tested me last year i had perfect AMH and FSH levels. the dr. said I was the easiest case he'd seen all week. I told him I wouldnt go making judgements like that. Turns out even though my numbers are great, my eggs suck. No one likes to talk about that though.

I am so happy and touched that the article resonated with you ladies. That was my purpose - you're not alone! And like I wrote about and Lillies said - you still feel broken even after it's over.
Thank you all so much for giving me the courage to share our story!!

Amazing article. Thank you for having the strength to share your story.

I agree- that is a powerful sentence. I may have a child, but I am still infertile.
