2nd pregnancy...when to tell pediatrician

When i had my twins I had called a few places and met with doctors. We are going to use the same pediatrician for the new baby. Do I contact them to let them know I am pregnant? If yes, when do I let them know? I am 20 weeks now.

They really don't need to know ahead of time. When you deliver at the hospital they'll ask what practice you're using so someone from the practice will see your lo in the hospital.

I told our pediatrcian at the time casually at one of my daughters well visits.

I called them when the baby was born to make the appointment for the first visit.

ETA yes you let the hospital know who the ped is so the attending physician there will check on the baby (My ped was affiliated with the hospital I delivered at)

Same as the above posters. I mentioned that I was pregnant during one of my other kid's routine visits but that was it. At the hospital they asked me who the ped was and I told them. The hospital contacted the ped. I called after he was seen by the doctor to schedule the first visit when they instructed me to.

My pediatrician figured it out when he saw my bump while DD was in for a check-up.

I completely forgot to mention it at my ped office. I called at like 36 weeks and they said "no worries. Just tell them you want us, they will call us and we will be there to evaluate your baby".

There's no reason to tell them you're pregnant. If they're affiliated with the hospital you're delivering at, you just tell them at the hospital that's the practice you want to use. When that practice does their rounds, they'll look at your baby. Otherwise, you just need to tell the hospital when you fill out your discharge papers so they know where to send the baby's records.

I called my ped and let them know. They keep a big whiteboard where they write down expected delivery months/dates. I'm guessing it helps them plan for busier months.

I just mentioned it when I went for my DS 3 year well visit. I was probably about 20-22 weeks.
