Returned to previous place of employment?

Has anyone ever went back to a previous position? I left this position about 6 months ago and I know that my current job is just not for me. There is another opening in my old department, however, a big reason why I decided to look for a new job was because of one of the senior staff members was just a rude ***** and refused to train me. Circumstances have since changed and now I am looking to take a step back in responsibility. Would I be nuts for reapplying for my old job?

Nope- I did it. I called my old boss after being gone probably 4 months and went back. I have never once regretted it. I went on to getting promoted to a different role and really making a name for myself at work.

The reasons that bothered you before will still bother you. If you're not happy in your current role, maybe look elsewhere.

I never have but know someone who did. They were very happy with their decision to go back to the old job

I haven't, but the industry I work in, it's very common for people to hop back and forth between the same companies. We've had people come back 2 or 3 times over the span of many years. It all depends on if things have changed enough for you to be happy.

Half of my company has left and come back! If the bad issues that made you leave changed...go for it!

someone at my company was with us for 8 yrs left about 4 weeks ago and returned last week. She said she thought leaving was right, but was not happy at the new job
