It's May 18th- would you wear riding boots?

I know it's cold out for May. Like the coldest May I can remember.
However- when do you put the boots away?

Yesterday at DD's school I saw a woman in fall riding boots.

Then today in the bathroom at work- jeans and brown riding boots.

I know it's chilly out, and I usually dress for the weather, not the month , but I feel like it's time to put the high boots away by mid May.
It just looked kind of odd to me.

I'm not exactly in a sundress and sandals yet, and I wear my tall boots into late April, but I remember putting an outfit together the first week of May this year and I'd normally wear my boots with it, but I changed the footwear up because I just felt weird wearing high boots in May.

Am I wrong?

No I would not - boots are away. I have been layering this week as I dont want to pull out my winter jackets even though its been cold enough! I feel like I need to embrace the less than warm month of May and just layer but not winter like layers.

I'm wearing mine today, but that's because I wore tights today because I was cold in my house and my flats looked stupid.

I'm wearing mine today. Hell, I'll wear them in July if it's cold enough out.

Not today since it's so sunny and the temp isn't too cool.

But on an overcast cooler day like we've had recently. Sure.

I think it's because I hate the look of fall clothes that I try to avoid them as long as possible- (I wear sandals well into Oct!) and get rid of them as soon as HUMANLY possible.

I was just out at lunch and it's super nice out- I feel like fall clothes just look out of place on a day like today.

ETA- I don't wear or own riding boots- I can't do anything with a flat bottom- but those are what I saw today.
The boots I wore until end of April are high heeled boots- they dont' look as fall as a riding boot I guess...but I still thought they were kind of out of season once May 1 hit

hells to a no. While not away fully, I refuse to put them back on.

Closed toe pumps/heels work.

No. I packed mine away once it hit April. I don't even think it's been that cold for boots. My best friend is still wearing them though when we go out while I'm wearing sandals. We look like we're dressed for two different seasons!

I wear mine almost all the time. I only put away my black boots. My tan ones stay out.

No - put them away over the weekend. I did see someone wearing them today and I just thought it looked too wintery (not bad, but I just want it to really be spring outside, not just pretend!)

I actually wore mine the other day , I never thought I would be wearing boots in mid May! Other years I would side eye people in boots this time of year, but you know what, the weather is too freaking crazy an some days it's downright winter! I can't wait to wear sandals full time!

I wore tights yesterday and felt like that was too wintery - but it was so f'n cold! But I'm done with winter clothes - I don't care how cold it gets between now and Labor Day lol. I have lots of cardigans and light jackets that I wear over what ever dress, shirt etc I'm wearing.

(But, we have at least hit a sweet spot in my office - I haven't had to use my 2 space heaters for a few days - I'm sure that will come to an end, once they put the A/C on Chat Icon )

If they're plain leather, why not? I'm crying that I had to put mine away. I swear 2 weeks ago I climbed back up into the attic to get a sweater and my Fryes!

Nope- I've given up on riding boots for the season. Even though it's totally cool enough.

So, today - almost 90 degrees out - I saw someone wearing back quilted riding boots, black leggings and long sleeve black top. Made me think of this thread! Based on where I saw her - where she was working - she had to wear all black, but it was making me seat just looking at her

It's time to let the boots go. It's time to let winter go. It's time....
