To be honest, I would never buy a car seat at a yard sale no matter the price and its not recommended they be sold by numerous child safety organizations. It's different if the car seat is given to you by a close friend or family member because you would trust them to tell you the true history of the seat and whether it was in any kind of accidents (even what most people would consider a minor fender bender) or checked on a plane in which case it was likely thrown around and mishandled, etc. While I'm not saying you are lying about the condition or history of your seat, there is no way for someone purchasing it in that kind of setting to truly know about its past.

This. I would never buy a usee car seat when you can get a brand new, perfectly safe seat for cheap depending on the brand.

Hmmm, I don't know that I'd ever buy a used car seat. You never know if it's been in an accident, how it was handled. I'm sure yours is fine, but I feel like this is something most people would buy new.

i agree, i wouldnt myself but i know lots of people need them for seconds- meaning to have an extra for a caregiver/nanny or grandparent, that is used just occasionally and they do not want to have to buy another set for. is $40 too high for the car seat plus the two bases?

You can ask for 40 I just dont think anyone will pay that. I feel anything over 10 bucks at a yard sale is pricey LOL. Kwim? Ask for 40. But they will most likely try to bargain you down to 25.

Someone will buy it. I know of someone who has bought baby items to have as extras at her home for when the grand kids come over.

You might not get what you want but aim high and negotiate

She washed and scrubs everything down

I'd probably sell it for $25, not more than $40.

I wouldn't sell it at a garage sale. Sell it on one of those buy sell apps. I had a garage sale and none of my big ticket items sold. I put them on Close 5 and everything sold.

This. Try a FB buy/sell group as well. Baby items go like hot cakes on those.

I would never buy a car seat at a garage sale. you can get them SO cheap and brand news
Even for a second option for grandparents etc
You are better off trading it in at Babies R Us when you need another seat
